Is that something CBPO's should be fighting for (GL Scale) or is it better to remain on the GS Scale?

GL is better, more money is better of course. But even if they had GL it only lasts a bit. You would only get GL-5,7,9 after that it all reverts to GS. Im sure they will eventually fight it if they aren't already. But you will probably already be an 11 or 12 by the time that happens anyway. It's just good to know that they know have the FERS law enforcement retirement.

You'll do a year as a 7 and a year as a 9 so 2 years to hit 11 and 3 to hit 12.

Yes there are steps to each grade level. They don't really apply until you hit level 12. Steps 1-4 take a year each then steps 5-7 take 2 years each and 8-10 take 3 years. So you'll start as a GS-5 or 7 depending on qualifications and you will be promoted every year until level 12 going from 5 to 7 to 9 to 11 then 12. Then your step increases will start. Sorry I suck at explaining things so hopefully that makes sense.

Sooo, after all said and done, turns out my region offered is in North... Anyone has insight on Norton, VT, or Maine ports? 24 hours to decide. Thx

Thanks. I already got a notice of proposed unsuitability determination, but I was given a chance to explain and send in supporting documents to mitigate or resolve the issue, which I did. I didn't have time to get a letter of recommendation, but in my response I said my supervisor could be contacted for a positive reference and I explained everything and sent all the documents regarding the resignation. Now I'm just waiting to hear back whether they will let me continue the BI or find me unsuitable...the waiting is the hardest part.
