  • Good Morning Applicants. I was wondering if any of you had an "average" time frame of how long it took to get your SF86 request email after passing your VBT/SI. Tomorrow will be three weeks since getting my "eligible" NOR and I still have not received anything regarding the BI process. Thanks.

I got it the same day I took my vbt/si interview.

I'm almost at a month since I got my results and I still haven't received any info about BI. Looks like we aren't the lucky ones who got theirs right away. Probably has a lot to do with region possibly.

Hey Josh- Yea, I am starting to feel that GEO need/scores will have most to do with the rest of my process. I hear some say they got the BI email next day, some a few days later. I guess it all depends on where your file is in the pile. I am also still waiting on my med review to clear (been 2 months so far since I submitted the paperwork they requested), so I suppose there is a chance my BI is on hold until that clear so they don't waste the money.

              • I passed the vbt and was told to wait...then they had me do the interview with CBP officers. I'd say within 5 business days I was called by the polygrapher to schedule the polygraph.

According to your signature, you submitted your BI information prior to your VBT/SI. Most of the posters I have seen here have mentioned that their BI information request came after they passed the VBT/SI. As always, there seems to be no consistent methodology with the process.

I wonder if it has to do with where you live when your testing. Like for me I did the VBT in Long Beach but did the Poly in San Diego. You're right though...the consistency seems to be inconsistency lol.

Not sure I agree with you there. Whatever part it plays seems to be very limited. I scored a 94 and I see people that scored in the 80's ahead of me in the process.

Yea- Many things seem to play a part. I think they move things along in batches per GEO. So, since I applied for Central East, maybe they hit their max threshold for BI's for that region and will add more into the process as others fail out/move along. Either way, this is for sure a very long process. The biggest issue for me is not knowing if I will even get an offer or when the next steps will occur. This is troublesome because it is hard to plan your life out for the next 12 months or so. My wife and I have considered moving to NC however, this will depend on what happens with this position, and unfortunately, there is so much doubt with the app process.
