Thats what I had heard too. A friend of mine works longbeach and said they have recently approved many many positions in LAX and surrounding areas. Hope that holds true.

Pay matching was largely a child of the FCIP appointments. Once our POTUS did away with the FCIP, pay matching left as well.

If you're trying to compare compensation across two different positions like CBPO and BPA it's probably best to look at all compensation as a whole.
Border Patrol has(at least until they lose it) 25% AUO attached to their position. That's a huge chuck of change that virtually every PA can elect to receive/work. Plus they collect some FLSA OT on top of that AUO and they collect "LEO" scale pay in the GL-05, 07 and 09 range. Also, 100% of that AUO is retirement creditable income.
All told, I'd be willing to bet that the "average" salary of a CBPO and a BPA of comparable pay grades leans to the advantage of the BPA...in most circumstances.

Depending on circumstance, there is a chance you might end up doing duties during the course of your career that requires you to have an active clearance, so you'll be initially vetted by a SSBI for the possible issuance of one.
If and when you actually have the offical need for an active clearance, you'll be issued one.

I met with my background investigator on the 7th of May.
And again - last week. June 4th.
To go over what another investigator ran into in another state.
I think you, Jade, said you had multiple states being covered.
So don't count on your investigation to be wrapped up in a week.
They all have to forward their information to the investigator that you just sat down with.Geo - East Texas

I asked my BI on their timeline to get my papers ready, he said they have only 18 days for each applicant to gather info. Other investigators have already started interviews with ppl I put in my sf86. My BI said that he should be done by the end of next week. I met him on Thursday and again yesterday which made me very stressed after the stuff he told me. Now I have to wait restlessly to find out when I get a result from the adjudication which some say might take few weeks to years.

I had SSBI done on me took 1 year to get it adjudicated would have been quicker but the government slowed things down a lot.
Originally posted by Jade78 View PostI, too, have very similar timeline as you are, I met with my BI yesterday and guessing a week before he submits my file to be reviewed. How long that will take? I don't know, does anybody have an idea of how long we have to wait on adjudication process?
Do you guys know what kind of investigation you had? Is it SSBI, FSBI, or what?
So if that's the case, why do we have to go through this whole process if we won't get clearance?

I don't think it will take too long.
A couple co-workers already got their offer like I said before. And we started the background around the same time. I guess my BI just drug his feet a little bit. But they only took about a week for the adjudication process for them. Hopefully we are in the same boat Jade.
Because some of the stuff I had to go back over also from another state is making me stress also.Geo - East Texas

Jade, you have to go into your settings and turn on PM's.
And CBP does get a clearance. As they are exposed to information and procedures that the public should not know about.
Whether it's security clearance or secret, I do not know.Geo - East Texas
