      • I applied last week for Midwest Region.
I went through the process back in 2009 and had to redo the hearing test from medical but wasnt able to get it done in time, so trying again this time around.

          • To Catch a Smuggler was on last night. Had CBP officers going around checking for narcotics at JFK airport.

I know a couple of you guys said ignore what you see officers do when it comes to preparing for the VBT, but I still couldn't help it. None of them seemed really aggressive, except for the interrogation portions of the episode. When the officers were on the floor looking out for suspicious people, they never had an aggressive tone of voice, but they still displayed some sort of authoritative while being polite, and using words "Ma'am" or "Sir".

            • This new application process is kind of confusing. I remember when you were scehduled for the written test and knew the date, time and place, as soon as you completed the application. Now, they have gone to the tedious USA Jobs, Application Manager option. I applied for the current opening and haven't heard anything yet, however, I checked on my application status and it states "pending on HR Specialist Action". Then I looked on top on the "assesments" section and under External Asesments, it has a due date of 06/13/2014. Does anyone else have something similar? It's kind of confusing when you have a June date, yet have not heard anything.

I would take the police job personally. This is not a fast process by any means.

                  • Hi, I took the poly back in Feb 7, as today I have not receive any answer email or letter, I call IA and the last time they told me that my case was close and send to HR and they should contact me, this process is really frustrating, I took the exam in march 2012

                    • I am a current federal CO for the BOP, I work in the south but am from the north and so is my fiancé, I am trying to get back to Chicago. I just applied for the CBP opening. I only applied for the Midwest region, how likely is it I could get stationed in Chicago? Also I am currently a gs6 almost a 7 will I potentially get a decrease in pay or will I start as a 5 with higher steps to equal my current pay? Not sure how it is if you change agency's.

Mine also mentions the External Assessment that is due on 6/13/2014. No clue what it's about.

Your case is close or closed?
If they said its closed then I think you didnt successfully complete a favorable polygraph and therefore your app will be withdrawn. A good indication of bad news is no more access to CASS.
