As many have said before, if anyone really wants a job, then you pick the hard to fill locations, then you are a for sure applicant. Jade I'm an agent, not an officer, I just know where to find stuff.
What's tinge difference between and an agent and an officer? Aren't they the same?

I do not work for cbp. I am a Special Agent (criminal investigator), my colleagues work every where.

Patrol officers are the border patrol.
What? So the guys in green are Border Patrol Officers??

If it's an equal opportunity employment, what's the point of having the minority on title V? I don't see any difference in the hiring process so how are they going to hire more females this time?

            Comment

            • Need females to search female passengers, conduct interviews, etc. Most times it's better that way. Hardly any females on duty. Females is a critical need. They're not saying they won't hire males, but having more females around to conduct body searches, etc would be desirable. And it would avoid a lot of delays while a female CBPO is called in just to search. This isn't just a CBP thing, they is a society thing. Happens in other places as well.

But hey if you don't know the difference and want to know, go into the BP forum.

Jade, I think your misunderstanding the law and the waiver. In certain areas of the country, cbp, for CBPO have been given permission to overlook the higher male scoring applicants and hire females that applied for those positions. That's the difference. In different words, if you scored 70 and applied to a hard to fill spot with females like San ysidro, and I scored a 99. You would get offered the job before me.

That discussion is really for a different forum.
How about you start the new forum coz you know what you're talking about, or there's a thread about a CBP female officer here already. I like your posts coz you make sense thanks

                              • Please can someone help me with a decision? It HAS NOT been offered yet, but I got a email from usajobs saying my status has been changed to hired for the Federal Prisons. But I have my vbt/si on 05/14. So here are my questions:
                                How reliable is usajobs?
Should I still do the vbt/si?
If I do get the prison job (which is federal law enforcement also) how hard or easy is it to transfer agencies?
                                Thank you for your help
