    • Hey all. If someone an correct me if I am wrong but CBPO are those in blue while BPA are in green? I recently just applied to this position on USAJobs: Customs and Border Protection Officer

I have my testing date on September 24. I heard it's challenging but I am looking forward to this process as this has been a dream job of mine for quite some time.

I do have a question. Is the CBPO FLETC in Brunswick, Georgia? I was a little confused because I saw someone post that it was in Artesia, New Mexico.

      Thanks and good luck all.

You are correct on the uniform colors.

CBPO Academy is at FLETC GLYNCO, Brunkswick, GA. Border Patrol Academy is at FLETC, Artesia, NM.

          • ... so I got the "Call" on Tuesday. I had 24 hrs to decide on 2 ports in the USVI. I called back on Wednesday and asked for 24 hrs more which was granted. I then called back with an hour and decided on St. Thomas USVI. Within 3 hours I received a call stating that 2 more port options came in... my heart stopped I couldn't believe it. So Ft. Lauderdale (my hometown) here I come . The moral of the story is to take what you are offered because you'll never know what you could be giving up on. I am so happy I sucked it up and accepted. Good luck guys and gals. This forum has kept me from searching the internet for info. You guys rock!

                      • SO I'm taking the test on September 24. I feel like I'm decent at math and my grammar needs some touch up. For those that have taken the test and had success how should I best use these next three weeks? I plan on reading all of the study guides they give you on the website and take the practice tests. Thanks in advance!

The study guide is GOLD! Pretty much spend your time expanding on the knowledge within the guide. Pay attention to the way they want you to answer the questions then branch out and look for similar examples in old college books or on the internet. i scored a 97 not sure what the max is. Going in knowing what to expect payed off for me. Good luck!

                          • I found the study guide useless for the math examples. If the study guide consisted the same math questions on the exam, then I probably would've done better.

Still crossing my fingers for a score in the 80s. Hopefully I get my results back soon.

The study guide is to give you an idea of what to expect and help you identify your weaknesses so that you can polish up prior to the exam, it is not meant to give you the questions before hand.
The study guide is your best bet to do well on the test, but if you only do the exercises provided you will not find the test easy... You need to expand on what was given to you in order to succeed.

                              • Re-reading my last post, I didn't mean to say the exact same questions. Heh. Obviously I know they wouldn't give you the questions that'll be on the test beforehand.
