  • Congrats to everyone on getting your T.O.'s ! Still waiting here for Illinois .(Chicago) Scored an 89 No Vet. Pref. back in Nov. of 2007 and still no T.O. I haven't even heard of anyone getting T.O's lately for this area. Anyone know otherwise or have any other info on Chicago ?

      • Can someone please explain to me what Qualifications do you need? On my CASS it says A review of your work experience and/or education is still pending.

I graduated from college recently and got my BA. Is that enough?

Thanks. One more question, sorry, would anyone recommend working a part time job or maybe even a full time job while trying to complete all the steps in CASS or should I focus all my attention in preparing myself? Thanks a lot for the help.

That is tough... Nov. '07 tester, and still no T.O. even with a pretty decent score. Are you like me: not wanting to change your preferred city because you really must stay close to home for personal/family reasons? If not, then you may have better luck changing to a city that many of these guys here on this forum are talking about are sending out TOs.

Out of curiosity, are there any other Nov. '07 testers out there still waiting for a TO?

Have you tried calling them? Maybe something went wrong. Hope you get a TO soon.

your looking at about 7 to 8 months (if your lucky) time frame. if you can live on your savings and not have a job for that long.. go for it..

                  • I am trying to stick it out for Chicago because of the personal/family reasons that I'm trying to stay close to. Plus if I change my Gro. Pref. to a place like Detroit then who knows how long I will wait, plus if they already sent out all T.O.'s recently then I might not get one ? Not sure how that works. Just worried that if I change and they get to my score in Chicago even a month later, I will regret it b/c there will be a long time before I can transfer back Im sure. Detroit is the only place I would change to since it is close.

                    • Wow, to my surprise, my name showed up in CASS this morning. I hope that means I will be receiving a TO soon (?) I'm not too optimistic about the whole process, but I'm definitely willing to wait and see what happens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Also, have you gotten your TO yet... if not you are way behind the ball on the call, one step at a time : TO, BI packet, Medical/Physical, VBT, Drugs, and then if you're lucky you could get an "interim" clearance and get the call...

I know of 2 Federal employees in here that are still waiting on their BI,
so guess what....take the chill pill and wait like the rest of us
Yes I do work for CBP right now....I called today...my packet is being mailed tomorrow in the mail. The hiring department said I won't have to go through another BI...Thanks for your response.

                          • Hey guys, I am pretty sure this has been asked many times before but please answer if you can. Thanks.

Do you need 20/40 vision on each eyes or both eyes together? I am very confused at the vision test and how to know if you have 2040 vision or not. I am wearing contact lens and have no idea how to read my prescription to see if I have 20/40 visions and I am scared I might have to get surgery or something.

                            Thank you.

                            • -Near vision: Must test at least 20/40 with or without correction
-Distant vision: Must be at least 20/100 or better without correction
-Corrected distance vision must be 20/30 or better with both eyes
                              -no colorblindness
-Refractive Surgery/Lasik: free from significant untoward side effects of surgery e.g. glare, contrast sensitivity, etc
-must have normal depth perception/ perhipreal vision

That's straight off of the specific requirements of PEPRs that the staffing unit nurse sent me for an injury.
                              "Officer, you are kinda hot."

                              "And you are kinda intoxicated."

Then that's another one down, and the only remaining steps to pass are Medical,Fitness, Drug, and VBT. BTW welcome to the board, and the waiting game...
