I'd also ask about at your port, maybe somebody there might have an easier answer.
Thanks Merlin. I'll look into that

I would of chose Nogales, but my boyfriend works for Border Patrol and his station is in Douglas.

Has anyone on here had to recert or ,as we've been told, "re-clear" their background due to the year expiration after the final adjudication? It's been two months since IA's had the file for the second time and not a peep from them. They haven't requested an update to equip or anything. Just wondering what your experience was like if you've been through this, and get some expectation on the timeframe to complete the round two of the BG.

            Cheers!
My BI was supposedly an update. They did a full blown BI again and it just showed clear. It's taken several months (about 4 I think), before that has finally happened.

            • Thanks Pony,

Prior to the most recent bg did they send you a notification to update your equip or did they work off of your previous sf 86?

              • Hello,

Can an applicant change locations after receiving the TSL. I am wondering if this can be done or you have to reapply under a different announcement. I have clear all the steps besides the BI and drug test.

                Thanks in advance

                  • So how many other people in here waiting in TSU? This uncertainty is worse than when I was waiting for background to clear.

No, you cannot change geographic location after you've selected a location. In order to change locations, an applicant must withdraw his/her current application and re-apply under a new announcement.

This one is tricky because you are not guaranteed another TSL if you withdraw (CBP's language not mine). However, with the purported mass hiring to happen in the near future perhaps the chances of receiving another TSL might not be so dicey after all. Who knows? Just make sure the Port you wish to work at is part of the vacancy announcement before you withdraw. Good luck.

I think we are in the same boat. I'm anticipating a call within the next few months.

After receiving a TSL you can't change GEO. You'll have to reapply on the next open period that offers the location you desire. I wouldn't advice withdrawing as you can be completing steps while waiting for a new TSL... Once you recieve the new one everything will transfer over. Then again you are applying to regions and not specific ports, so unless you didn't apply to a region you are not willing to take, then You should apply to the one you are willing to go to.
