Agree. Furthetmore, standars should be met before any promotion could be given. That ensures that the force is in shape.

How about they also raise the academic standard from a lowly 70 to 85 and higher. That way half the meat heads on here wont be there at the end of the academy.

If you want to give a fitness test before a promotion, throw in the range and an academic test as well to ensure you know your job.

If you applied for Southeast and want the Florida region, I would suggest you change your geo pref if you can. As far as I know, Florida is not included in the southeast region, it is in the Florida and Caribbean geo pref.

As for the rumor, I think there is supposed to be an expansion down at MIA, but otherwise in Central Florida I cant imagine much more, unless one of the ports here wins the contract to be the home port for the next Aircraft carrier, which would mean it would have channels deep enough for commercial carriers and cruise liners.

What I was going off of was what MHC told me. Its quite possible that those people may have been in the system from when Florida was a part of the "southeast" or that the MHC people, when I talked to them, didnt know what they were saying. I am fairly sure that it is the former as this lists the different Geo pref's. But IDK, this whole hiring process seems to have changed and is soo random.

Nope, the written exam is different, as well as the pft. The parts that should transfer over are the medical, forms and background/poly. BP also has a different oral board than CBPO.

Hiring was scheduled to stop with the sequester, but it does look that if the CR for the second half of FY2013 passes this week, hiring will likely start again. The CR from the house has CBP, both CBPO and BP, at existing levels and allows for the backfill of positions(Hiring). I've been looking at the bill's progress in the senate, and hopefully they pass it early this week so it can go back to the house with the amendments and we dont have a shutdown.

Well took the BP exam today, and the examiner said there were more exams still scheduled for the next few months. So I took that as a sign that the entire hiring process isn't on a complete freeze as of yet.

The exam was a little easier and shorter than the CBPO exam. There is no math section. There are only 3 sections to the exam - Logical reasoning, Artificial Language or Spanish (Your choice) and qualifications. That's all, lol. I took my exam yesterday also.

I just rescheduled my BP exam from next week to mid April.

I'm with you. Things were going extremely fast for me and then all this happened. I'm in TSU now, though. I know everyone says this, but just be patient. The time will come.
