I was wondering if anyone has some general information about Brownsville, Texas. I will EOD there March, 22 and was wondering about good places to stay for pre-academy, as well as after FLETC. Any other information about the area or CBPO life there would be appreciated as well (scheduling, etc.). Thanks!

When I talked to them, they said they were filling only up to early may at the time. Most likely the remainder of the classes are going to be canceled per the plans for the sequester. If some deal is reached as part of the 2013 remaining budget, then they will probably start filing those classes.----------------------------------

I did read some news today(and saw it on tv) about Pres. Obama beginning to offer consolations about reforming Entitlement programs(medicare/medicaid) which is a very large step towards finding a deal that can appease many republicans as well as Dems. Dems will likely get higher rev. through tax loophole closure, and repubs will hopefully get lower spending levels.CBPO:

Hi, still waiting for my BIbut Any way from

How will sequestration affect CBP Field Operations?
Under the automatic sequestration cuts, we anticipate reducing agency-wide expenditures significantly during the remainder of Fiscal Year 2013. CBP Field Operations, the office responsible for securing the U.S. border at ports of entry, will experience budget cuts equating to the loss of several thousand CBP officers at these ports of entry, in addition to significant cuts to operating budgets and programs. Stakeholders in the travel and trade industries will see service impacts and CBP employees will be furloughed.
I am thinking about joining CBP, it will take a lot be closed to my current salary. I think I can not handle thatone 3 years old son and one on the way

I received my TSL on 2/25/13 for Florida. I tested last April. Im shock that they are going under 90. Not only that, alot of my coworkers has gotten on too. I know that they built an extra piece on to MIA and it was said that they need more CBPO in the near future. I hope this process goes by quick like in 2007-2008. Anyone else received an offer for FL?
