Are you close to HYT? National Guard would be the way to get a military retirement. USCG and USCGR is really not that easy to get into. Your mileage may vary ...

      Good luck

Being a Vet and a 25+ Year lawman, you need grunt mentality to do policework. Unless you are working in Mayberry with Andy and Barney.

        Good luck ...

        • Ive been the USCG for my 8 years of Active Duty, Switching over to the USCGR would be really easy for me. I would access into the USCG IRR and after probation switch over to Regular Reserve.

My advice is just remain calm and cool. After each question they ask, take a few seconds to gather your thoughts and formulate your answer mentally before actually proceeding with answering the question. There is nothing wrong with that and is actually strongly encourages, well it was for me at least when I went last year. Best of luck!!!

I have read other posts that say that you don't get cleared for overtime until after post-academy training.
