Any feedback on whether I (going forward for potential other announcements) would be considered a 7?
I'm thinking your managerial/supervisory experience would qualify you as a 7, at least as they relate to this job.

    • Well, that WAS the call I got last Friday. I finally got in touch with them on Monday, and they started to offer me the job. They did ask if I have seen my physician or taken any medications since my medical, and that answer was unfortunately yes, I was on a steroid medication last month, so they are sending e-mails back and forth to figure out if I need to go see one of their doctors again to get cleared or if it's ok.

I will continue to wait and be happy that at least I am getting very close.

Im also waiting on the drug test... I believe we might get the final call even if we dont take one, we might get the drug test anytime during the process, even after your EOD..

Thing is coming in as a 7, you have to wait for a 7 spot to open up. There are more open 5 spots then 7's, so applying at a 7 could conceivably slow you down, not sure if this process could actually move any slower though lol.

            • Hey folks, VBT update. As my gut instict told me after the TV test, they failed me.

I guess customs is looking for people who can interact well with a 14" CRT monitor and not real world.

The only thing I wish for is that I didn't fail cause of some newly trained tape reviewer didn't pay attention in training.

Anyway, have fun without me CBP thread

              • For those who received "The Call", is it an actual phone call or is it by email?

                        • if i were you i would begin applying as a GS-7. Just to be safe i would apply as a 5 and a 7 just in case you arent"qualified". Im 21 and qualify as a GS-7 due to membership in the Criminal Justice National Honor Society so i dont see any reason why you wouldnt be with your qualifications.

Thanks Greggy. Good feedback from everyone. I check USAJobs very infrequently...and when I do check I primarily look for the Northeast just because I am not willing to relocate TOO far away.

I have my LASIK surgery scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully I will have perfect vision by the time my Med results get sent back (took physical on 11/12/12). It's a 3 month waiver period before they will clear you right?
