  • Well crap. I failed the fitness test...Got to 4.5 minutes and my legs just would not move. Literally dead legged! I practiced for three weeks with very good results! Is there a way to appeal? I really believe I could get there with one more week of training. 45 push ups, 48 sit ups, 14 side steps, 8 50lb lifts in 17 seconds. UGGHHHH!!! Thanks.

There are so many people in the pipeline if you fail I would image no one would be sympathetic enough to give you another shot. Most likely you will have to wait for another announcement.

Just like the Poly, there's no letter or any other notification to let you know you have passed or gone through... you'll either get a letter stating you failed or simply not be able to log on to CASS if you're dropped... or you'll see the green check on the BI when it's adjudicated.

However, on the day of my BI, about 2 hours before my appointment, I received an email. The email was for a "provisional clearance" so that I could continue through the process before the BI was completed. Thus, I was given an EOD and scheduled my PFT2. I recently spoke to my BI and he said he was sending everything off (this was Friday). So my provisional clearance may no longer be necessary.

Yeah I have my poly the 21st and I haven't met with the investigator. Hopefully I am as lucky as you.

Haha, ya I've received it from several diffrent emails before. I think they get bored and want to mess with us so they use diffrent emails to confuse us haha. No I'm kidding probably has something to do with the holiday yesterday or something. Could be that Brendt is just off today lol.

Congratulation to him. I asked my cousin and he asked some people at the field and they said that I should try to get Brownsville. I am not familiar at all with SWB so this will be a good answer for me as well.

Sounds like he was in a 2010 announcement, eh?

Edit: 10-3 That. Presidio wasn't in the "SWTX" vacancy.

I was just told I failed the polygraph. Not suitability or trustworthiness, but foreign nationals.

I'm stunned. Let me preface this by saying I'm from a small town in Georgia that doesn't even have a red light, much less terrorist organizations or operatives. The only foreign travel I have is from cruises.

The guy administering the test said I failed the foreign national questions much to my surprise. There was no explaining it away. I've had absolutely 0 contact with anyone and I have absolutely 0 sympathy for terrorist organizations.

And just like that, my opportunity is shot, for good. At this point I'm convinced the polygraph is a crap shoot. Im pretty devastated.

Just take this story as a warning, regardless if you're 100% honest you can still "fail."
Just an update. I have not yet received my official notification and I can still log into CASS, but that hasn't stopped me from taking action.

I recently took another polygraph. I provided the examiner with the foreign national related questions and he modified them. He asked these questions along with some other trustworthiness questions (and of course the base questions). We spoke and he asked some different questions during our regular discussion that I feel helped me out. Additionally, the movement pad was sat on.

Per him I passed and didn't exhibit the slightest reaction to any question.

I plan on appealing, so does anyone have any links or info which would be helpful for me?

                            • SWB Timeline

So I have read through a lot of the conversations here and it seems that if you are not trying for the SWB your wait is going to be a few years. Having said that I am curious about the timelines for those that have applied for the SWB. I have seen some people that applied for the SWB in 2010 and not hired until 2012 but also have seen people hired for the SWB that applied this year and hired this year.

I am really looking for a consensus more than a concrete answer. I know everyone has different circumstances. I feel like the process is moving rather quickly and given the fact that I am going for the SWB, my hope is that with the push for bodies on the border as well as their need for women, an offer might come sooner rather than later.

                              Thoughts? Similar timelines for SWB?
