  • Hows everyone doing,
I have my VBT/SI scheduled in 3 weeks at 8am, a little early for my taste but I cant complain. Anyways I was wondering if someone could tell me how long will it take to complete, and also what I can expect for the VBT/SI?

There is a partial list of holsters that meet policy kicking around. That list you ought to be able to get from your FI guys or through CBPnet by clicking on OTD, then Use of Force Policy Division and then searching "Use of Force Handbook" and/or "equipment list".

Basically, any quality holster with at least one restraining device that encases the trigger-guard when holstered will meet policy.
There is a very current approved list that can be found on CBPnet secure.

There is a current list of many "example" holsters and equipment that meet the minimal standards. That list is not comprehensive. Many qualified holsters exist that are noticeably absent from that list.

couple hours max...can't tell you what to expect cause we signed, and you will also, a disclosure saying we will never tell anyone about what is on the VBT..wear a nice suit and treat this like the most improtant interview you will ever have.

                  • For any Northeast applicants:

I know of a current B.P.A. who applied Northeast this past March and already got an EOD date, in N.J.
Obviously, he was able to skip the background, but still good news that they are actually hiring up there!

Since management has to approve any of the equipment that is carried, I think you will be hard pressed to find any managers that are going to approve any equipment that is not on that document that I referred to as it is titled Authorized Equipment List with a revision date of February 2012.

Wow.. that is nuts.. I haven't heard anything from a BI or anything. It has just been quiet since I passed my drug test in May or June. Did you get called or meet with a BI or did it just stay quiet and you ended up with a random call for your eod? Thanks and congrats!

                        • How long did you SWB guys wait for your TSL1 after sending in your forms from your NOR? I have been waiting a month and scored a 92. Just worried they might not be giving out anymore offers for awhile since they closed the announcement.

I received my NOR almost two weeks ago and uploaded my forms as well. I was wondering the same thing.
