      • As far as overtime goes with OFO, I've been told that the way that CBP justifies the ridiculous amount of OT we can possibly get is because OFO draws a profit. As opposed to 99% of other government agencies.

Well both Obama and Romney claim they want to create more jobs, OFO wants to reduce OT, so hurry up and hire me and I can help kill two birds with one stone...lol

            • The mean average for OT is somewhere around 12K for the average CBPO. If anything, I expect that number to drop in the near future.

              • Every port is different but at my swearing in, the 2 star port director said $35,000 is the overtime cap and that people were applying for waivers. As awesome as making an extra 35K is, I don't want to work that much. That's like setting up a cot in primary.

                • slightly off topic but does anyone have the cbp approved list for off duty holsters? got any opinions/recommendations on the concealment holsters? need to pick one up or at least research some. Appreciate it.

Not sure what gun you will be carrying but the CrossBreed Supertuck is what I have and is generally regarded as one of the best concealed inside the waist band holsters.

From what I have heard this is typical at the SWB... and as a new hire expect to be pulling doubles fairly often.

I'm a holster nut and I've used a bunch of holsters. Crossbreed sucks. I've owned and worn one; never again. Comp-Tac's CTAC or MTAC blows CBST out of the water.

Just my not so humble opinion.
                            Gek.

There is no current approved holster list. That list was killed off several years back with the implementation of the current UoF policy.

There is a partial list of holsters that meet policy kicking around. That list you ought to be able to get from your FI guys or through CBPnet by clicking on OTD, then Use of Force Policy Division and then searching "Use of Force Handbook" and/or "equipment list".

Basically, any quality holster with at least one restraining device that encases the trigger-guard when holstered will meet policy.
