meh.. I'm telling you if you have a car here it will keep you sane. you can only eat so much chicken. sometimes u just wanna get away by yourself and just drive somewhere on a weekend. if your home is miami then ur lucky enough to actually go home on a friday if u wanted to. physically, you get used to it. i had a pretty crazy instructor but they calm down after the session comes together. don't bring any personal issues with you bc that'll definitely make things harder. just my .2

What Im talking about is what VA pays you from your GI Bill for going to FLETC and what they pay you for OJT (on the job training) its 2 different programs. Some people just get a check for 14,000 plus for the whole year and some people get it monthly. I see it as a way of helping out when you start with GS 5 or 7 pay until you hit 9.
what do you need to fill out the paperwork and where/when do you do it?

Thanks, it's 10:30 if map my run is right. I tried timing it myself a little less then two months ago and it was around 12, but then again that was two miles now that I think of it haha. I'm a maniac though, I hit the gym like 5 or 6 times a week doing 30 to 40 min of cardio each time. Also switching between sets of push ups and pull ups in the morning every other day M-F. Not bad for a guy that was an overweight couch potato and a smoker 4 years ago haha. The way I look at it is, now with just about everything done the only thing I can control is what shape I am in before my pft2. So I plan to be in excellent shape so the pft2 and fletc will be a little bit easier.

You are kind of right, who ever has the oldest TO date gets the call first. So all us 12/10 testers that most likely have an older TO will get the call first. Congrats on going all green! You should be receiving the call soon especially being you chose SWB.

I've just started the hiring process and got scheduled for my exam in a couple weeks, I'm currently active duty military scheduled to get out in October and was just wondering how long the hiring process takes. I've heard horror stories about it taking 1-2 years, and i definitely cant afford that, I also hold a secret security clearance through the Department of Defense so would that speed the Backgound Check process up any? I also applied for the SW border area which is apparently anticipating hiring new agents, do you guys think I have any chance of getting on by October, pending the poly/VBT/etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am also active duty (NAVY) and I am getting out in Jan 2013. I applied back in Sep 2011 (you can see my timeline). Tell you the true, this process takes a lot of time, maybe over a year. I haven't even met my BI yet. If I were you, I will worry for now on passing the written test first. Another thing, I also have a clearance from DOD but CBP will do another one no matter what. Good luck in the process shipmate

                              • Question: Why people here says that the salary for G5 will be around $900 every 2 weeks if the SALARY TABLE 2012(LEO) says $20.86 per normal hour? So, $20.86 x 2080(hours) = $43,388.8 a year before discounts.

I am using 2080= 40 hrs per week, 52 weeks per year.

                                Then, why the application says
"SALARY RANGE: $31,315.00 to $38,790.00 / Per Year"

I don't understand, I am taking the information from www.opm.gov

How we can I know the true colors?

Or we need just to follow that table using whatever they say annual rate or hourly rate?

                                Thank you.
