Got the call today - Otay Mesa. Applied back in August 2011 and completed entire hiring process in April 2012. I head off to the academy in mid August, I've heard Georgia gets a little warm in the summer, pt should be interesting out there...

No, that is horrible advice to give. I've been in the process for a long time and been waiting over a year for my background to clear. Thursday, I called IA and found out the reason my case has not been looked at by my adjudicator is because they had me as a border patrol agent. I applied for border patrol over a year ago but never went and took the test. How they had me down for a border patrol applicant, I have no clue, especially since I've been a cbpo applicant for the last four years. After that phone call my adjudicator said she needed only a few more papers and my background will clear. So I think if a person hasn't heard anything in a while call, call, call. I know, check the timeline.

The key here is to call them after you have met your investigator and 6 months have past without a notice or change in status...

I agree at least six months. I know people get worried after a couple months. In my second background investigation, i met my investigator on 6/6/11. So it took a year for me to find out what was going on. I laugh when I read posts where people just met their bi two or three months ago and ask should they call. So I will say call to check if it has been at least six months, then after that call.

That is exactly why you should call, bc things like this happen. Yoda is 100% correct though, do not call if its been only a few months since you met your investigator.

Hey everyone! I am new to the forums although I have been following them for a little while now. I contacted MHC the other day becuase I had not recieved a new NOR when I changed Geo and the woman on the phone said that I had been pushed up to staffing and should be getting my TSL1 & 2. She also said that they already had dates in the system for me for a lot of my other things. Anyone else been kind of sparatically thrown into a lot of this. Seems a lot like the Army. I asked, but the employee on the phone did not know. I am not sure if it is going to be a random assignment to cargo or passenger, or if they let you request one or the other. Either way, I am very thankful to have been offered Otay, it was the port I wanted to go to most out of all the other POE's on the SWB.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats!
