Thanks Shark. But I have also heard someone saying that he actually had a document that CBP was waiting for him to submit and until he called, that's how he found out he had to submit one more doc. So I think it doesn't hurt to call for someone like you whose been waiting for a little longer than most of us now. I have noticed that people at MN are now more polite because we are no longer waiting to receive TSL.

Don't think SD has too many companies in your gf's industry, but I think Irvine has a couple. So if your gf can find a job there, you might be able to either commute (if you choose to) from Irvine to SD daily for work, or you can find someone from the same port to rent a room/apt together. What I plan to do is, I will most likely find a motel 6 or something in that category which cost $30 or less on the nights I have to work in the SD, then on my days off, I will drive back to Riverside to see my families.

Me and you both Shark. Have you tried calling IA? MHC can't tell you anything about it due to privacy regulations, but call IA and they can at least tell you if it's been assigned to an adjudicator (as mine has been for almost a year now) or waiting supervisor approval. They can only tell you what the system says about your BI.

Very nice Moeie586. What does your timeline look like? I just passed pft this week, but haven't been called for the medical. But the night before I went for the PFT, I received a letter in the mail scheduling for end of the month VBT.

              blu05r6,

Do you remember if they ever offered you San Bernardino port? This is the closest port from my house, so I am hoping this port is also hiring.

El paso hires a lot. They have about 4-5 in every class. There is also Santa Teresa, NM which is a separate port but very close to el paso. There is no way to tell which ports will be available the day that they call you.

However I recently found out that I can not be offered a position or port until I am out of the military. this is making me second guess doing customs because my family and I dont know where to go or move all of our things once we are out of the military. What is the average wait for receiving a offer for SWB? Anyone else in the same boat?

I'm in the same boat. I had to email them a letter of service from my commander, saying when my etc is..... so are u done with every step in the process? I'm about have way through it . I took my test early April so for me its moving quick. I chose the SWB because 1 its a faster process and 2 because I'm already stationed down here and I love it "besides it being 100 plus degrees for 7 months out of the year lol" I would say move ur family where ever they will be comfortable at because they will be there while ur doing pre academy and while ur at FLETC, then you can move them to where ever ur port is. Thats what CBP prefers u to do. Ive been in for 7 years and I'm in the army.

I'm in El Paso now, at Ft Bliss its a fairly busy port here which u probably know and they are building another crossing in the lower valley and Santa Teresa is right by the upper valley, so I'm hoping I can get one of them so I dont have to move. I done know how likely it is to get one of these but just do like I'm doing and cross your fingers lol but when u get the call if they don't offer you one of those two,you can always tell them that u want to wait for a El Paso slot and hope that they done forget about u when one comes open.

They said to just return them in any envelope. They weren't going to give us an envelope to send it back in.
