      • jeez, did you receive it before or after your poly? Also, when did you submit your letter and how long have you been waiting for a response, or should I say a decision? I received mine after my poly to clarify a situation when i was 17, that's about 8 yrs ago...

I just got it a few days ago and have not taken my poly yet. I am still gathering all the necessary paperwork to clarify the situation.

They won't email you. The investigator assigned to you will contact you at some point via phone to schedule a sit down with you, during which he or she will ask you every single question on the last part of the written, the e-qip and every other paper you submitted to them.

You should also start hearing from ALL the people you listed as references that an investigator came in person to talk to them.

If I pass they wont tell me anything. So essentially I should know if I passed there and then (if they don't tell me anything)??
As Peoples Hernandez (Jeremy Wright) said in Shaft (with Samuel Jackson), "More oh le' ".

I did the poly last year in March. Took 2 days (6-8 hours on day 1, about 1 hour the next day). At the end of day one, the administrator tells me, "There are few things that are still a bit hazy, so you'll probably need to come back tomorrow, but overall looks like you passed". After day 2, another round of the same questions I answered the previous day, and at the end, he says, "still some murkiness, but looks like you passed." A few months later in May BI check in CASS turned green and I was referred to TSU and things stayed that way for a month or two (til about June/July), then I was removed from TSU and a bunch of things went back to red. In October, when I was on vacation with my girlfriend in the Keys, laying on the beach, I get a phone call from the medical unit to schedule me for my second medical, then again no news for a while and the medical cleared again, then another call in Dec for the BI 2.

What you people on here need to remember, is that the polygraph administrator isn't the final person to give it the thumbs up or down, yay or nay, but has enough info to give you a rough idea of whether or not he or she thinks you're full of manure or not (hence the vague answer that you'll get after you're done with it, the day of).

As the poly is being administered, your biometrics are being scrutinized, along with your answers, on the spot, which is why the administrator will have a rough idea of its outcome. If I remember right, before the poly began, you're asked to sign some papers not holding them liable, etc, and you're read something like the Miranda rights, etc. At some point in the pre-poly, my poly admin told me that the test might be being reviewed by two additional people live (one in another office within the building we were in and one remotely, or maybe both remotely, I forgot the specifics) and that if it is not being reviewed live, then after he submits his report and opinion, it would be reviewed later at another location (I believe in DC or Langley) and scrutinized again by two other administrators to determine whether or not all three come to the same conclusion or not, or to see if my administrator missed anything. So supposedly, your poly is getting peer reviewed at some point.
