Either way, I thought it would never come.
Your announcement may not require it, but I know the recent announcement when I applied this past March said that it was mandatory. But you are correct in the TSL1 they did not have anything saying the poly was part of the pre-employment process, although it may be included in the BI and just not listed.

Once you get tentatively selected it is only for the region you applied for and if you change it, you loose it and get thrown back in the applicant pool for the new region you want. As for the fastest way to change it........an email to MHC.

96 is a pretty good score but it all depends on the staffing needs for the Midwest, I had this friend that got a 97 and it took him about 2 years to get into JFK

From my understanding MHC doesn't handle the background, the office of internal affairs handles it in Washington DC. MHC sends it to them , then they assign an investigator and schedule a polygraph as well. Once your background is complete then MHC gets notified if you're eligible to be hired. You will get a phone call from both the investigator to meet with him/her and IA for the polygraph.

I'm done with everything including the poly. According to IA, my file is sitting on the final supervisors desk just waiting for approval.

Once you receive a TO/TSL you can't change GEO by emailing... you will have to re-apply to an open announcement and pick the geo you want, once they issue you a new TO/TSL all steps completed up to that point will transfer over to your new selection, but now you will have a new certificate date which will place you further back in line to be picked up. Now if you applied to a region that seldom sees hiring and you change to the SWB you might end up being picked up quicker, and end up regretting your decision later on when you can't go back home 5 years into it...

That's just a bit of an FYI...
getting in quick and end up stuck in a place you don't want to be in, or waiting and getting the geo you wanted in the first place... you will have to weigh in your pros and cons.
