Ahhh...I see what you're saying. Perhaps I am confusing my BPA application geo preference with my CBPO application. Can't quite recall...

    • I am going through the hiring process as well just did my medical a few days ago. I have a few questions for yall For people that got selected for the swb how did the station choice go? Did the hiring center just call you and say we have an opening here or did you get choices? And what is the deal with the rating from the written test i got a 105 with a 5 point vet preference does that mean I'm number 105 out of how ever many? anyone else in the south Florida area on here?

Hey Unite-- I am also in the Miami area right now.
105 is the score you got on the test, not your placement out of everyone. And wow you did very well, so congrats on that! As far as I know, when you get "The Call", they will offer you two or three specific cities in the general geographic location that you have chosen (SWB).

                • Is it unusual to get results and a TSL within 3 weeks of actually physically taking the test? I selected SWB and tested on Oct 12th. They told me it would be 4 - 6 weeks before getting results, but I got my NOR a week later, and the TSL a week after that. Just wondering.

The messed up part is how he insisted and insisted and insisted that I had to be involved in drugs and crime because I was from Newark. He said he understand that people are a product of their environment and people make mistakes. Yes I tried weed once(in early 2000) and only took like two puffs to satisfy a friend(how stupid) and yes I thought about selling weed(around 1999-2000). I was too scared to do it and then I decided that it wasn't right and wasn't worth it. I've been all around drugs and crime. I have seen many blunts get rolled and smoked but I have never rolled one myself. I could just walk to the corner store for a bag of chips and a juice and see people selling. I knew them by name and they knew me. I was in kindergarden when I first saw someone stabbed in the chest. I knew many Crips and Bloods but I never joined any gangs. The security guard at my building was a Crip set leader. I have seen people get shot at about 3 times. I've seen countless stolen cars. My car has been broken into about 3 times and stolen once. I could have easily involved myself into alot of things. I don't know why I didn't. I have no idea other than I was too scared. When I was growing up I hated telling people I lived with both parents...that my father was still there, he didn't walk away like others I grew up with and he takes good care of my family. Now I hate telling people I'm from Newark, NJ. When I was on the Greyhound bus traveling back up to take the Poly, the person in-back of me was talking to the person he was sitting next to and he called it the slums.....and he wasn't even from Newark.

I joined the Air Force because I wanted to do something different, I wanted to get away but MANNNN.... I guess you can't. Man...talk about being a victim of your environment. Talk about a feeling of hopelessness. Now why in the world would I want my children to grow up anywhere around here....so when they grow up, they won't be able to find a job because of where they grew up. There are three categories people could fall into....You are a product of your environment, you are not a product of your environment by escaping somehow(very, very few people fall into this category), or you are a victim of your environment. Which one am I?....Talk about hopelessness.
That really sucks. I hope you pass it. I understand that the poly tester will try to jack you up. They are not your friend, they are not trying to help your app. They're trying to get you to lie and double-back on a prior answer. Stay solid and stay consistent.

All the best to you, and thanks for posting this so the rest of us know what to expect.

Anyone else still waiting to clear BI that met in late July and turned in first week of Aug? Asking because my BI cleared The (Department Of Justice) in 3 weeks for C/O. But still waiting on CBP.

                        • When I did my interview one of the questions I asked the chief that did my interview was about how the background investigation works if you already have a background investigation because for me I have one through dhs already they said people with bi already done should get interim clearances.
