Thanks for the info! I know a person on that roster from Blaine. He and I have similar time frame, but when the calls went out my BI was pending :-(. Now everything on CASS went back to all green again. I hope Blaine is still hiring and I not have to wait for another year.

So I emailed dhs today about my VBT/SI and CASS updates. They emailed me back,
"We have your passing results. CASS does not update daily. It will reflect the next time it updates."


I also emailed them about my BI and finger print cards and they responded,

"I reviewed your record and it looks like we have received your fingerprint cards. However, one has highlighter on it and we cannot accept a card with highlighter. We will send you a new card in the mail shortly for you to fill out and return. Once we receive that card, we will be able to forward your forms to the security office."


I also emailed about my fitness going green but not my Medical.(I did both the same day).

"We have not yet received your medical exam in our office as it is still being reviewed by our Medical Officer. It can take between 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer) before we receive the exam in our office. Please feel free to check back with us in 2-3 weeks for status."

Funny you say that. My medical is green but my fitness is pending. Bass ackward if you ask me...

I had BP classmates at Eagle Pass and am somewhat familiar with Brownsville from time spent in SE Texas with the USCG. Hidalgo used to fall under the McAllen station for BPAs, which was where I was originally stationed. I can say that based on personal experience, and those of my old classmates, I'd have to say Hidalgo would be my personal preference out of your options. Rio Grande City would probably be second. The general McAllen area is a pretty nice area in general (especially for a border city), and is a reasonably good area for a family.

It seems like OFO is giving a lot of options for ports. OBP offered me one station.

I was thinking that everyone was getting a polygraph. Is that not the case? I'm reading a lot, but not finding much about them in recent posts.

Also, for those of us who put in for Southwest Texas under the later 2010 VA, does anyone have the list of ports that are options?

After receiving a lot of useful input I am going to choose Hidalgo.

anyone ever apply for capitol police

I applied for capital police, took the test Feb 12 this year. Easy test I got 100/95/95 on the test. I was contacted a bit after probably about a month and half and it was my BI, met with him, gave him all my details and it was a waiting game. Earlier this month I received an email saying they have better qualified candidates . It's tough to get in there bro apparently you need years of LE and Military to get in.
