i am more worried about the push up and sit ups. someone told me not to breath on the work but breathe on the rest is that true?

You are probably taking it at the JFK Airport Medical. Parking is free and there will be spots. Its not near the terminals its on the east side of the airport near some of the cargo office buldings.

I don't know, I would like to stay in Cincinnati. To think that they can ship me off to Anyville, Mississippi doesn't settle easy with me. This is discouraging, but I'm staying hopeful and keeping my fingers crossed...although I'm sure Mississippi is really nice... :-)

Dear Customs and Border Protection Officer Applicant:

Our records indicate that you have an active record on the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer applicant inventory for the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Why are we sending you this letter?

Changes have been made to the geographic location structure of the CBP Officer inventory. In order to meet the mission of the CBP, the inventory is being reorganized into geographic regions. Applicants on the inventory will be considered for locations within their selected geographic region. Applicants must be willing to work at any duty station within the geographic region. After tentative selection and upon successful completion of all pre-employment processes applicants will be made a final offer of employment. Offers of employment to specific duty posts will be based on the geographic region for which you were selected and the needs of the Agency. Attached you will find a break down of the new geographic regions.

What do I need to do to update my geographic region?

You do not need to take any action to update your geographic region. Please refer to the attached listing of the new geographic regions to see how the previous geographic locations will now be considered. You will automatically be placed in a new region based on your current geographic location. For example; if your current geographic location is New York City/JFK your new geographic region for consideration will be Central/East Coast.

What if I prefer a different region?

If you are interested in a location other than the one you will be automatically placed in, you may contact the Minneapolis Hiring Center (MHC) via email at [email protected].

Where does CBP anticipate filling vacancies?

Hiring for CBP Officers is anticipated mainly along the southwest border of the United States. Vacancy Announcement CBPO 11-2L will open for registration on June 23, 2011 and close on July 8, 2011 at 11:59 pm Eastern Time, or on the date the first 40,000 registrations are processed, whichever occurs first. The announcement will only be open for the Southwest and Southeast geographic regions. Applicants receiving this notice are not required to register during this open period. If you do register for a new geographic region under this announcement you will not be able to change to another geographic region. If you are tentatively selected under a new region the new selection will overwrite any previous selection. Registration is available 24 hours a day at www.usajobs.opm.gov.

What if I am no longer interested in the position?

If you are no longer interested in the CBP Officer position you may request to withdrawal your application from consideration by sending an email MHC at the email address above.

                    • The "agility test"(side step) and lift/lower are also there. Also to clarify for myself, is this scored competitively? E.g. would the candidate that gets the maximum score in each section appear more desirable than the candidate who achieves the bare minimum?
