I'm assuming that for a location with "Few Vacancies" it is typically based upon turn-over.
Thanks and good luck to everyone.CBPO

The one wild card that still needs to be determined is what MHC will do with the current pipeline. So as Yoda has reiterated already, everyone who just tested did so to fill spots for 1-3 years from now. And that time frame will be dependant on the needs of DHS.

an 82. Surprising since I missed half of the math portion. The rest of the portions were easy. Im not in a rush to get hired.“I'm glad to hear that the Chief (of Police) is a personal friend of yours. So you know someone who can post your bail.â€

Thanks for the info.CBP Officer

How will the elimination of this program affect CBP hiring?
CBP has issued FCIP announcements for front line positions as if they
were under competitive service, so theoretically there will be no change
in the hiring process.
However, the primary difference is appointees will be subject to only a
one-year probationary period, rather than a two-year trial period.
Mission Support positions can and will be filled using other existing
hiring authorities.
What are the CBP hiring alternatives?
Even though Executive Order 13562 eliminates the FCIP, CBP will hire for
front line positions, specifically BPAs, CBPOs, and Agriculture
Specialists, using the Delegated Examining Authority for career
appointments, Veterans Readjustment Act (VRA) appointments, and Veterans
Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) appointments.

I have an interesting question about what I should do in this hiring process. I originally signed up to take a position in New Jersey. The reason for this is that I have 4 years of experience working at an airport where CBPO is located. What I am wondering is knowing that New Jersey is not likely to fill alot of positions should I change it to Rhode Island. Why I am wondering that is because I know a recruiter in Rhode Island. Would that speed up the process at all or do you think that it will be beneficial to leave it the way it is?
On a side note NOR 80-Not to happy about the results, but I passed so we will see.

This means that a VET with 30% disability, that scored a 70, gets 1st pick over a non vet that that scored 100... Then to VETs, then non vets... I'm pretty sure vets will also be placed in front of recent college grads as well, whenever the recent college grad thing is put in place. Knowing a "recruiter" will not help you since the hiring is done by a separate contractor, and not actually CBP.
So best bet to be picked up anytime in the near future would be SWB, but if you want to stay where you are, you will have a long wait... I hope you're not in your 30's already, but you never know... you might luck out and get a TO!
Best of Luck!CBPO

A person applied with Vet Pref.. He recently got a disablitlity rating few months ago of 40%. Can/should he notifie MHC to be possibly moved up the pipeline? Will a high Disablity rating affect hiring.. the Person thinks he will get put on medical hold and get
medically processed out or passed up..CBPO
