Coming from a DHS agency, they SHOULD match your BASE SALARY.

Being that you're paybanded, I'm not sure what your base salary is. My guess is that you'd see no less than the bottom of the I-band.

yeah what were the odds of that? There was a greater chance of you getting the call tomorrow than seeing snow in Houston anytime soon.

Anywhoo, hope you enjoyed it. No snow for us here in Laredo sooo

      • I, like everyone else in TSU remain hyper-sensitive to any information about future hiring prospects. I called TSU today and was told the same as others have already shared. Nothing else will happen until next month/year. Also, I had previously been told that future fitness tests will happen not before they expire but thirty days prior to EOD. This is a concern to me because mine expires in a few days and on CASS my status had returned to the part that says all aspects of the hiring processhave been tentatively met. Anyway, I was told today that they aren't exactly sure if that's how they are going to do it (the fitness retest). While I understand and even appreciate the efforts of efficiency, it has the appearance of uncertainty. Anyway, I like the rest of the TSU waiting room remain anxious and probably to my detriment, hang on any information shared.

Did cost of all the re-testing finally catch up to them? People on here have been saying for months it was costing too much $$$.

          • Question: My husband logged into self service the other day and it now says "You have been referred to the scheduling unit. Generally an applicant can expect to be contacted to schedule their entrance on duty and/or training in 30 - 60 days. Depending on an applicant's selected locations scheduling calls could be extended an additional 30 days or more."

Is this different than being in TSU? I don't know a lot about this, but am curious about when they might send him off for training. I know some of you talk about TSU and have been there for a year or more. Thanks!

Yup, that's TSU. Welcome! Unfortunately, your husband is at the end of the line and in most cases the line is not moving. Don’t listen to the 30-60 time line. Many of us including myself have been in TSU 8 months or more. Hiring has been slow and at a stand still for most geo locations.

Bummer! That is not what I was wanting to hear, but at least he made it this far and it is good to know what to expect at this point. I appreciate the response. This is a really great forum and is the only place I have found thus far where I can get answers to specific questions related to CBP.
