I received my T.O. for the LES position last week and submitted the BI paperwork this week. I'm hoping that having the clearance done for this job speeds up the clearance for the ICE position... it looks like I may be heading to Vermont instead of Houston...
Either way, I'm just curious, not sure if I would transfer but I just want to keep my options open.
ICE is just like CBP, after you pass everything you have to get in line like everyone else.

My First Post!!!
Greetings everyone,
I've been reading this message forum for over a year and for some reason I was never able to post. I created a new username, and here I am.
First of all, can you please add me to the TSU list? My referred to TSU date is March 4th, 2009 for Miami, FL. I have been pulled out of TSU twice in the last few weeks for Medical and Fitness. I am now back in TSU with a date of October 28th, 2009. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't know if I should take MHC's word that my original TSU date will be used or if I should call / email to find out why it is listed as October instead of March. If anyone has any feedback or is in a similar situation, I would be grateful for your insight. Just like most of you, I'm getting impatient and can't wait to get the call. Friends and family always ask about the position, and it can be frustrating as I've been in TSU for just about 9 months.
Thanks to everyone who post on here and for all the good advice. I read this thread every day, and now I will be able to post.

She also said they are still only hiring for Arizona and Texas, one class per weekBut WHENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN?

I know it asks for any prior B.I. clearances in EQIP but the new T.O. also states that they don't have to necessarily take it into consideration when conducting the B.I.
I guess the funny thing for me is that the B.I. was done by DHS for the CBP position and ICE is still a sub-agency of DHS. Considering how expensive and time-consuming the B.I.s are you would imagine they wouldn't spend the money twice to obtain the same result. But I guess that's just the government for you.
I'm just at the point now where I'm ready to start working for the government and with each passing day it seems less and less likely that CBP will call me to start anytime soon. Well that and I think the LES job in Vermont would be pretty fun.
I'd be real curious to find out the actual staffing situation in Houston / Dallas b/c I could imagine with no new hires in 1 year they must have some staffing shortage...CBPO:

I'm sure we will start seeing calls for others geos soon. I do agree that most hiring this year will go to the sw border but ports nationwide will still need to fill spots opened by cbps who left their position. That will probably be all the hiring the rest of the country sees though. I don't recall the number of new cbp positions created with this year's budget but I'm sure it is mostly if not entirely being allocated to the sw. My bit of hope rests on the former cbpos who left prior to the gs12 announcement

Last Saturday I received a letter from ICE office of personnel security. My adjudicator is requesting for some documents. I sent a letter and the required documents. In that letter I told them that my BI have been cleared for CBPO. I don't know if this information will help or not but I don't lose anything anyway.
CBP and ICE share information about applicants. When ICE scheduled my medical and fitness I called them to let them know that I already took the medical for CBPO. Next day ICE called me and they told me that I have to take only the fitness because the medical is the same for both agencies. Same thing happened with the drug test. I think the key is to let them know. Maybe they are not aware of many things. I heard about a guy who received the call for ICE while he was at FLECT for CBPO. He preferred the job with ICE. ICE told him to finish FLECT and after graduation they will hire him.
I will keep you posted about my background with ICE works out. I know about many people with this same question. Good luck.
