I apologize if this question has been asked before but I didn't want to go through over 700 pages of forum to look.
So, here they are. You can be a CBP officer at 18 correct?
What are the differences between CBP officer and agent? They are considered Federal Law enforcement officers right? Since I have both US and Canadian citizenship could I apply while i'm living in Canada rhen move down if I get accepted. Also, what is all the equipment there issued.
This GS-12 upgrade might actually increase hiring in the short term.
GS-12's make well more than 2X the overtime money per hour than that which GS-05's make. Any OFO/port looking to cut it's OT budget can far easier fill it's OT slots with GS-05's making less than 30 bucks an OT hour as opposed to GS-12's making $65 an OT hour.
Thats good news for us GS-O5's who are waiting!! Good news on a Monday morning!! Thanks Merlin!!
Do you think those classes reflect all the people in TSU or those who have taken the test last in 08?
if those numbers are right than 25 classes is about 1200 people. There are over 2000 people in TSU. Certain ports will pick up more officers and some ports may get little to none new hires. It all depends.
It's not good.

I'm not calling you out in particular UofU and I'm not even saying that the numbers are not correct. I'm just wondering where the number 2000 came from that everyone is tossing around. Are we extrapolating or is there a source that we can get up to date numbers from?

AC.CBPO you've been in TSU for Miami since June Of 2008?
That one got me too. The first picture in my head was Milton on Office Space.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Bob Slydell: Milton Waddams.
Dom Portwood: Who's he?
Bob Porter: You know, squirrely looking guy, mumbles a lot.
Dom Portwood: Oh, yeah.
Bob Slydell: Yeah, we can't actually find a record of him being a current employee here.
Bob Porter: I looked into it more deeply and I found that apparently what happened is that he was laid off five years ago and no one ever told him about it; but through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, he still gets a paycheck.
Bob Slydell: So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch.
Bill Lumbergh: Great.
Dom Portwood: So, uh, Milton has been let go?
Bob Slydell: Well, just a second there, professor. We, uh, we fixed the *glitch*. So he won't be receiving a paycheck anymore, so it'll just work itself out naturally.
Bob Porter: We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem is solved from your end.

P.S. I've interviewed with 3 local PD's and every time I get a letter telling me thanks but no thanks. (I scored a 93 out of 100 on my civil service exam and speak chinese fluently)
What towns/areas did you apply for out of curiousity? I'm from Danvers and i'll be applying to local PD's soon.

heard it from the TSU lady with my own ears. I was pulled to re do my fitness and I called because they had my TSU date as September 2009 when it's really April 2009. I called to check and asked about the mix up and where I was in line and she said they had about 2000 in TSU and that April of 2009 would put me at the front but at this time we "have no funded positions"
I called about a month ago so those numbers could be higher.
