Hey cajunchik, on the fitness test do they allow you to do the modified pushups as a woman or you have to do the regular one?

REGULAR!! I repeat... Regular!!! I was dying because I couldn't even do one and they gave me 2 weeks to train. Not to mention 8 days of that I would be in Disney!!! I could do the female style like it was nothing but you would be amazed what a difference it is to get off the knees. Yep, I did it!! The 20 minimum required. I was only at 15 going into the test but the addrenaline kicked in and saved me. Then she made me do the 50lb lifting right after. I couldn't feel my arms after. Try driving an hour home after that one!!! Lol!!

          • When we had Senior Inspectors, there was a quota for GS11's. Now a non-supervisory officer is counted as an officer. With the GS12 journeyman (keep in mind this is a raise in the journeyman level and not a promotion) the only effect for you guys waiting for positions will be that some guys who were going to retire will stay to get a new "high 3".

The only locations that will be open in the near future will be the Southwest Border, El Paso, Laredo and Tucson Field offices. San Diego, not so much as it is not so much the border town as the other locations.
Life is what happens while you are waiting for something better to come along.

He says he regrets it now because there is more room for advancement with the CBP. Don't know if that would help your decision if it happpens to you, but I would do some research before deciding anything.
ICE Criminal Investigator (1811) or ICE IEA? The two jobs are very different. With the new GS-12 journeyman level, the only thing that is better than ICE IEA is the pay. You advance within CBP by kissing ***** or if daddy is a senior management staff in DC.

                  • Quick question. How long does it take CASS to update someone back into TSU once they retake the fitness test? My CASS login has shown everything cleared and all green check marks for the last week.

It took mine two days. Check CASS phoneline they might have already updated your status.

Mine has been showing all green for over a week too....thought I would be back in TSU already. I am actually now hoping CBP doesn't call me for a while bc I'm hoping to get all the steps done for the local pd I applied to so I have options.....

They have a place, but it might not be fighting crime with their fists all of the time. Jut because most girls can't do pull-ups or push their own body weight up 5 times without their knees on the ground and few can outrun a fleeing man doesn't mean they don't have investigative minds or that they can't pull a mean trigger and arrive as backup. Some can do all of that stuff, some even better than me - it would be foolish to turn good candidates away.

It really isn't an issue for CBP, though
