I just emailed them, I'm kind of in the same situation. CASS just shows I've completed everything, it doesn't show me in TSU. I retook the test 07/31, they showed it completed in CASS like around 8/10. I also asked if I would get my same TSU date, which was 12/01/08 for East TEXAS!! I'll keep you posted, unless you emailed them also.

The only way it is 26 weeks is if you graduate and then hang around for another 10 weeks.

              • Hey people, sorry its been a few days to update but here we go.

First day was just filling out forms and electing your benefits. Second day we reported to our training port and so far its mostly been training on CDs and stuff. Basically giving you a heads up as to what is going to be coming at you at FLTEC.

We have a couple of trainers from FLETC and they have been giving some goods heads up. Right now the classes that start before Oct 1st will not have to comply to the changes that take effect OCT 1st, as far PT and some other stuff.

Third day in was today, and they took us over to see 2 cars get tore up that had drugs in them . Yesterday they had a bust of around 2,000 lbs.

Friday we are supposed to go out to the range for weapons training. Other than that its mostly getting prepared for FLETC.

                      • Well...if you are one of the lucky ones who take Spanish, the 6 week Spanish course, plus academy totals 21 weeks. Add in the additional 5 weeks that is supposedly rolling in and you might see a "26 week academy"...at some point in the future

So I got a response inregards from my email, MHC states, "Your file has been referred back to the Schelduling Unit on August 14th. CASS will reflect this date; however we will keep you in the queue with your original refer date of 12/1/08." It goes on to say they still have no vacancies in East Texas, that they will call once they receive openings!!!!

                          Hope this helps everybody!!!

This is what I find hard to believe. How could a fairly big GEO location such as E. Texas (Dallas, Houston, Galveston...) not have any vacancies/new hires in almost a year? I think there is so much more to the generic answer than MHC gives everyone who asks their status. "no vacancies"...

                              • MHC has no vacancies...in that they have no funded training slots to give out in that particular area at that particular moment. That doesn't mean that they did not have slots available 2 hours back...or that they might not have slots open up 2 hours in the future.

Don't confuse MHC's lack of vacancies with anything actually going on in real life with boots on the ground. TX( or anywhere else) could well be short 1000 officers but unless and until MHC has actual funded training positions to hand out MHC will be singing their song of "No Vacancies".
