yup, I copied and pasted it from the DHS/CBP website.

just curious to know how mhc contacted you & said you're unsuitable? I too, had to see a specialist, but mine was for hearing. I sent in the additional paperwork & after a month & a half cass still says pending. I'm assuming once you're found unsuitable you'll no longer be able to log into cass or hotline?? Thanks
I received a packet in mail which included a copy of the CBP medical requirements and a form for my optometrist to fill out. That page is what I sent back to MHC. I figure when applicants encounter issues with medical, background, etc. they're pulled from the list of people who can receive CASS updates because their files have been sent out for additional evaluation.

So they gave me a month to have Lasik done and submit my vision results after lasik. I mailed in results and now I have a 3 month post-op check up, that can't be done sooner than 3 months. Now I have 20/20 vision, my post-op is Sept 9th. My advise is to get Lasik Surgery done ASAP because you still have to wait 3 months after surgery to be medically cleared.
Exactly the same case with me. I knew I was somewhere between 20/100 and /200. When MHC notified me, they never mentioned Lasik (not that it wasn't up to me to come up with a solution). I was confident that my new results would pass because on paper, I met the minimum according to a certified, experienced optometrist. Guess not

So, after getting Lasik and submitting the results to MHC, would they have to make a judgment to even reactivate my application, or would I got straight to where I left off in the process, save for those steps that may have expired?

      • Can I assume i out the race by now? I tested dec 9 in Miami and got a NOR of 86 (pass). February I was to update my geo code because it was changing for the south Florida area, I did it and got a new NOR with the updated info...that was the last I've heard from cbp. Am I missing a step here? I know waiting is part of the game but is this silence ok?

Just be patient. There are a lot of people who scored better than you that will get their TOs first. I scored an 85 last July 22 and got my TO 12/26 of course it depends on the demand for your Geo preferance too.

Well normally you can at least see your application and NOR's on there.

I first took the test in 07, then reused my score (87) for two other announcements in 08.

                  I didn't get a TO until March 09.

I had totally given up on the job when the package came in the mail.

You will have to wait for your TO because of your score. They hand them out in order of the score. Don't worry, they will get to you, it just may be a while. From what I read on here, Florida is pretty jammed up with people already in TSU. So, until the backlog clears, they are not going to start processing anyone else.

My advice is to just forget that you even applied and go on with your life. Apply for any other jobs that you are interested in. I waited to apply for jobs that would require a move for personal reasons, but now wish I had applied earlier. I know people say the process can take a few years, but I never really believed it until I started dropping apps.

                  • Of course, the BP run time is 2 minutes faster than OFO's and CBPO trainees don't run a confidence course.

OFO has taken some serious steps toward getting to a set of meaningful fitness standards, but I think it's a huge stretch of the truth to say that our standards currently mirror BP's.

                      What if quotas did exist?!

                        Can you transfer?...

                        Yes.

Is anyone likely to transfer anytime fast or easily?...

                        Not likely.
