2.As for the locality pay, yes DEO's receive locality pay, but no leap. And how much OT u get is based on the district u work in.
I am a 0081, and have a meet and greet scheduled. Can you explain what LEAP is? Never heard the term before. I know they said if selected I will continue my LEO pay and retirement, is LEAP another type of pay schedule? Just curious? Appreciate any answers you can provide!

LEAP is law enforcement availability pay.

Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP): Maintain requirements set forth in the Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) Act of 1994 and related Service policies. Criminal Investigators must, on an annual basis, work an average of 2 hours of unscheduled duty in excess of each regular workday to be eligible for LEAP, which is 25% of the annual base pay.
As far as I know, the only ones to get LEAP are 1811s, 082s (DUSM) and Federal Air Marshals.

          • 082 DUSM's don't get LEAP, we are straight OT until we get our GS-11 then get LEAP when we convert to 1811 status.

Depends on how much you want to work I guess. I've heard of guys at Super Court making a ton of money, but they end up working ridiculous hours. I try to get 4 to 6 hours a week if I can, but its tough for me to get more than that. Just depends where you are and how much OT is available I guess. LEAP is a pretty good thing though and I definitely can't wait til I get it!

Hey Man, thanks. It was great! The martinis were nice and I particularly liked the massages, Haha! No, really, things were great down there. A very good program and the accommodations were awesome compared to my time in the Corps and with the State. Loving my office and the job. A special Happy Birthday out there to all of my Teufel Hunden brothers and sisters out there!

Dubb, I don't know that one. I'm presuming that DEO's do the same just about everywhere but I don't want to speak for Super Court. I think MANSTOWN is down there, so I'd point you in his direction.

DEO's at Super Court are in the cellblock hooking and searching. They will do some transports back and forth to DC Jail. Other than that, not much else. If you have a more specific question let me know.

                            • I got screwed 2 times!! I was lied to twice and never got called back for an interview after i was told twice they were going to call me for being highly qualified. Since I'm already FLEO no harm done. Best of luck to the 6 that got TO's.

Charger does a DEO become an 1811 DUSM? How long does this take if you started at Gl-7? And I am assuming if this is the case you get sent to FLETC again for CITP. It would be a dream come true if this was a good route to get in with the Marshals. I would be willing to put in my time. I've got four years FLEO experience and a BA. I assume I am competitve for DEO.
