Done with poly, background investigation seems to be wrapping up nicely. Anyone know when medical should be? And is an invite to the first medical mean you’ll be in the first academy class?

Here's a quick breakdown for anybody wondering how the last processing weekend (aug, 27-28) went.
Day 1-- Show up to the academy in fitness apparel,
- Line up by the front door
- You're called in and given a door # and the station packet
- they go over a few forms and documents that you're required to bring in
- You are then directed to the gym for the Sit-ups, Push-ups, and the run (15-20min drive to the track)
- You're brought back and sent to the auditorium for extra paperwork for poly and other forms.
- A vision test is also done on day 1
- After you confirm your attendance for Sunday (day 2) you are free to go.
- Bring an extra t-shirt, trust me.
Day 2-- Please wear a full suit, plain (preferably Navy or Black), one guy came with a checkered suit and the trooper asked "you think this is prom rehearsal?"
- The forum saved me from a roasting session by the troopers as I was not planning to wear a suit initially.
- Guys who came without a suit were called out loud by the troopers, some even showed up with what they called "Dress sneakers". Oh, believe me, they were roasted in front of good 150 people.
- Most of the day is spent filling out forms for the psych and background information
- Throughout the day, you're called out of the auditorium for the hearing test, urine , and drug test and you meet with Investigators who go over your file.
- Once you're done with everything, you're given an appointment with the psych and you have to get fingerprints done within 5days
- You're good to go after that.

Do you guys think they filled the academy class with the pass processing weekend or there is a possibility for another processing weekend in 2022?Comment

If anyone is looking for tips to increase their chances of passing their PAT during the processing weekend here are some tips that worked for me, they might not work for you but it doesn't hurt to try.- Take up swimming, every day for an hour or every other day; depends on your fitness/recovery level (rest 1-2days)
- Get a weighted vest from Amazon or any other retailer, I got a 40lb vest to practice high-intensity sprints. (CROSS101 Weighted Vest)
- Download any activity tracking app, I used Mapmyrun to get an estimate and keep me on track.
- I also practiced different types of variations for pushups, do as many as you can with each type (decline, incline, weighted, diamond, wide, close grip)
- For sit-ups, one exercise that really helped me is weighted leg raises and controlled sit-ups. Controlled sit-ups worked for me because I learned how to coordinate my breathing and the number of sit-ups I can do per breath hold; start counting the numbers when you start feeling the burn.
- This is coming from a person who could barely run 5-7mins without stopping for a breather, I'm in pretty good shape ( muscle-wise) but the run was the biggest challenge out of the 3.

Anyone know if they filled the class for November last I heard they were still short on the targeted sizeComment

I mean there will be enough for another class. As for the exact numbers, it's hard to know until after background checks, but it's not like there won't be enough. The orders are for humongous classes, so they're trying to get as many as possible. -
jaguarshark that makes sense.
So you think even if the July processing group gave them enough bodies for the next academy class they still would’ve done the processing in August?
Also, I here the files go to Albany this week, at this point do you think the guys that got Dq’ed have been notified already? -
No, if July had gone better they wouldn't have done August. I've seen people DQ'd at any time in the process. -
jaguarshark thank you for your insight brother. We appreciate it. The wait is killer but I’m going to continue to trust God.

My background packet was sent upstate and my rank is 7xx. Done with everything until Medical. I'm assuming that if the academy is starting late Nov the Medical will be either late October or early November. The Medical Invites should be sent early October. Wondering if they filled the class size with candidates from July and August yet. I guess time will tell.👍 3Comment

I figured the next academy is coming up in November and 6 months from that its May so I believe around that time is when the following academy will start. Obviously processing will begin earlier probably around january or february. But i could be totally wrong just thinking out loud basically.Comment

Hello,
Currently going through the investigation part of processing and just passed the polygraph. Once everything is sent upstate how do you know you have been accepted? Is it a call or email or more of a formal paper mailed to my house?Comment
-
As soon as you take it the examiner will grade your test in another room and come back and tell you if you passed or not.Comment

I did mine at Troop NYC and it was around 3hrs, next day my BI called to say that I passed or technically that " I was being truthful". Which is something I was confident in because no way I lied on it, so no chance of not passing it.Comment
