So just throwing this out there. Im currently a cop and work with a lot of troopers. Ive been told that the state police are hurting badly for bodies and are loosing more people than they're getting. I can tell you guys i scored 13,000th approximately on the 2017 list and still got canvassed off that test. Granted it was 4 years later. Im sure everyone will get a chance.

What do you mean by canvassed? You got called in?

Canvassed is a term we use wheb you receive a letter, packet, email whatever the case maybe, to let you know your processing starts. So i got a canvass letter/packet in September of last year from NYSP which included all the info, background packet and a letter offering me a conditional position. Unfortunately the tattoo policy barred me from processing.

Something like 17,000 - 18,000 took the exam. If you are top 3-4,000 I'd start getting ready for the July processing. The numbers are a big estimate so don't hold me on it. Unfortunately there's still a strict tattoo policy, so if you have anything that will be visible in short sleeve shirts, it's probably not going to happen unless you're willing to laser it off.

i am all good on everything just took the exam and got 10k list number i dont know if they will call me for next processing or ot really stressing it weather i made it or not

AiiMX - with a 10k #, they will not be calling you for the next processing. Could be a year or two for you. Estimate something like 3-4k per processing weekend like @Janguarshark said.

Anyone think mid 1k can make it in the first class? I know there’s a big turnover people don’t show to processing or fail the background I just don’t know if 15XX Is enough for the 1st class.

If your ranked 1-1500good chance you will be called for processing first group. When I processed in 2019 my processing group had 1400 I think. Or 1400 were invited or something like that. START TRAINING NOW! It’s not a joke.
