It's a sad day, I know a couple of guys up there who are good Troopers.
God Bless him and look after his family in their time of need.

I think we all have had to say that way too much on here lately.

                I sent you a 2nd PM.

Due to the overwhelming response, the staging area has been changed.

I would like to thank everyone who was in attendance for Tpr. Lane’s funeral on Monday. It was amazing to see the overwhelming response by the LE community which was very impressive, yet so sad at the same time. I know it certainly made an impact on the friends and family that were there. Again, THANK YOU!

I was at the wake on Sunday, and I was very impressed by how many guys were there. Not just our members, but I personally saw Troopers from New Hampshire, Florida and 2 from Texas. A very humbling day.

It has been a rough year for Troop D as this was the 3rd funeral this year.

It is always amazing to see the amount of officers from all over the US and Canada that attend these funerals. There was pictures posted on a local website but they have been taken down and I couldn't find them.

Once again the NJSP were outstanding. If you have never seen them at a funeral they send a bus load of people and right off the bus they are marching in cadence and stay in military formation until they fallout before getting back on the bus. Very professional looking and they always represent their agency well.

David Lane played football for General Brown HS and people were holding up signs of #30 (his number) when GB beat Cazenovia in the Carrier Dome last weekend and the entire team went to the wake after the game.

A tragic loss of life but a funeral befitting a hero...

                            RIP

                                On a different note...

                                To the current NYS Troopers..
Has anyone heard of NYSP "freezing" retirement for eligible NY Troopers?

I have a good source in NJ and was recently told that the NJSP has just done this (basically telling them they were not allowed to retire for a certain period of time) and was curious to see if NYSP was following this.

                                Thanks
