The Dept i am applying to has a 20/200 vision req. My vision just alittle worse....do you think it will make a diffrence in the hireing process? (I do have 20/20 with my glasses)

I got the same problem, but not nearly as much experience. My Optomotrist says my uncorrected vision is somewhere around 20/200. I noticed that when I squint, my sight improves dramatically, but he says your not allowed to squint on an eye exam.

Is it really cheating to squint?

Also, how does the department feel about Lasic? Do they care if you have your distanc evision corrected but have to wear reading glasses? Lasic is down to around $300 per eye, less than some glasses.
Though their numbers are many, as the grass upon the field, we will count them at the end of the day.

20/200 is pretty bad... Can you see anything without your glasses?

I think you are okay if your 20/20 with glasses or contacts..
