  • Medical--Bummed

I went for my medical/drug screening today... I am sorta bummed about it..I was fine on everything except my depth perception..I only got 5/9 on the test, which is okay if my vision was 20/20, but my vision was 20/40- so I have to go to an eye doctor to figure out what to do The thing is I have never been told this before, and I have no problem seeing things, hitting a baseball, and doing everything you would think has to do with depth perception-

I hate the idea of wearing contacts or glasses, but I am not sure if there are other options/treatments for this depth perception problem-

I was planning on making it into the October academy, but with this I might be held up

Anyone else had a problem with their depth perception? What kind of treatments are there?

    Thanks

        Update for those who care-

I went to my eye doctor and they did a complete depth perception test and I scored 100% on it

So they sent a letter to the clinic who did my physical saying I was okay to continue with the process-- I am back on track!!

I had the same problem with a vision screen done for Border Patrol. The clinic said I had decresed peripheral vision...so I went to an optometrist and had a vision screen done and there was absolutely nothing wrong...and the funny thing is I went back to the same clinic a month later for a physical for another job and the same person did the vision screen and I scored perfect....oh well...glad to hear you got everything taken care of! Good luck!
