My husband is going to be applying at CMPD this fall, as soon as he can get through with his trucking job and be at home for all the tests (which is why I am posting here, and not him).
Background: He's 27, has good but not perfect credit, no drug history, and a speeding ticket over 6 years ago (otherwise, a clean record). He also has a BA in Psych from NCSU. He graduated almost two years ago and has had a couple of jobs since then, so his job history isn't necessarily the greatest.
He is also in the process of signing up with CPCC for their BLET course in case he does not get into CMPD. But it would be much, much better for our family if he could get paid while going through the training!
Is there anything he can do to really stand out during the application process? Or any advice from anyone who's been there done that? Or are there other good departments in the somewhat local area that he should look into?
Thanks so much in advance for any advice or information!!!
