Do they pull your medical records at all?

Sorry to answer a question with a question but is there a particular health issue that you are concerned about revealing to a BI?

It's somewhat complicated IMO. I learned during BI training course about 10 years ago that technically a PD must give a conditional offer of employment (COE) before requesting any medical forms or asking med questions, including sick time usage. We were told this fell under the auspices of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Once that COE is made the PD can ask for any and everything medical and can withdraw the offer based on the findings.

None of the many PDs represented in that training followed those steps in that order.

I don't know how accurate and/or dated that info is today.

They would have to know where to look.

Where do BIs get medical records? Is there a single agency that provides your entire medical history or do they have to go to individual hospitals and clinics? And how far back do these records go?
