As a former police explorer, and a current police explorer post advisor, I have nothing but good things to say about the Exploring program. It is a tremendous opportunity for youths who may want to become leo's to get their "foot in the door."

Our Explorer post is run fairly strict, but not to strict to where the "kids" dont have fun. We have a policy and procedure manual, rules that govern when the Explorers can "ride-a-long", etc.

Our Explorers compete every year in a regional competition w/ about 15 post from around the tri-state (ohio,kentucky,indiana) and they compete every 2 years in the National Competition (to be held in Flagstaff Az next year)

If you are looking to start a post, re-vamp a post, or whatever, please let me know and I will be glad to help.
