baltimore co. police dept.

can any one give me some insight to the hiring process for baltimore co. and baltimore city. i will be taking my physical and written test on 9-10-05 for the county. i am trying to make a decision on which i would like better city or county(assuming i get in) the only thing that i can see coming up was drug use(marijuana) and stealing. i was never arrested for stealing or the drug use. the stealing was 3 yrs. ago and so was the marijuana. i am really hoping to get into one of these two depts. any help would be greatly appreaciated. thank you.
