REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate, 21 years of age or older and in good physical condition. Each applicant must have completed Act 120 training prescribed by the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission.

The Whitehall Township Police Department, a progressive law enforcement agency in Lehigh County, through the Whitehall Township Civil Service Commission, is actively seeking applicants to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer. Whitehall Township Civil Service Rules will apply to applicant testing. Applications may be obtained at the Whitehall Township Administration Building, 3219 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, PA, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. from July 25, 2005 to September 16, 2005. All completed applications must be submitted to the Administration Office by 4:00 p.m. September 16, 2005. Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of $25.00. Applicants are required to have a valid motor vehicle license, be a citizen of the US, 21 years of age before the deadline for submitting completed application and have acquired an Associates Degree or its equivalent (60 credit hours) from an accredited College or University OR 2 years of service as a FT Police Officer to qualify for written exam. Written exam is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 9:00 a.m.
Applicant shall be required to take a written exam, oral exam, and physical fitness test. Minimum passing written exam score shall be seventy (70) points and attainment of a score within the top 50 applicants for the exam. Applicants not achieving both of these prerequisites will not be allowed to proceed with further testing. Successful applicants will be required to take a physical exam, including drug panel screening, a voice stress analyzer examination, and psychological exam after offer of employment.
The Township provides an excellent benefit package. Current salary for entry level police is $38,729.60/year. Applicants must meet Township residency requirement of 10 miles within 6 months of hire.
