I'm so jealous just utterly envious of you. I'm glad that you think I'm an awesome candidate that's a true confidence booster. Really helps.
if you're going to try to "clown" me for grammar, you should probably use proper grammar and punctuation all the time yourself. you're missing multiple capital letters, and multiple commas.

AND if you're going to pull something i said to you in response to one of your multiple tough guy messages you privately sent me, i can post the entire thing if you'd like.

it really should've been obvious to you a while ago that you showed yourself to be a tool. at that point you should've just stepped back and observed, gathering information for the job you say you're seeking, silently. your skin is tissue-paper thin. you can't take a joke.

BOP must have you in some office somewhere that you don't have direct contact with anyone, otherwise your insecurities may just be too much for you to deal with.

btw- just for future reference, read this next part several times to make sure you understand it---- going back to delete your posts that make you look "not so good" is kind of stupid when you can't delete the posts that people have quoted your words in. just a thought. i know that's a really hard one to grasp.

    • Well back to this forum. So everyone whom has received a new email from HR about the fitness test and final offers to soon go out in April. All of you guys never had backgrounds contact you nor did you have your fingerprints ran correct? Seems to me as if the 1st round interviewers are the ones whom are getting these emails. Heres to good news for some and not so much for others. Anyone else here the rumor of DC and SWB locations and not getting whats on your wishlist.

I interviewed in August and finished everything but PT in December, heard nothing since then.

I asked some DUSMs about the wish list, they said traditionally‚Äč it's SWB and DC but service is in need of people so wish list might not be completely far fetched.

        • FWIW- I spoke with a marshal on one of our depts task forces. Now this was just his 2 cents which doesn't hold too much weight but just sharing. He stated that the SWB is a big fed Leo scapegoat. Marshals have no specific interest in illegals. There's just as many fugitives in Chicago as in Laredo for instance. Like most of us know, it comes down to openings and usually the spots are open where most people don't want to be I.E. SWB or D.C. I'm in TX and he stated there could be openings in any major city here or just small ones on border. However first rounders may get those two and second round could be scattered or vice versa. All is heavenly dependent on timing.

Just sharing, obviously most of that is what most of us already knew. At the end of the day you won't know, till you know.

          • The question is: will they tell you your prospective location with the offer? Or will they pull an FBI and only assign you after you've been in the academy for a few weeks. The latter is.....not as desirable.

I was told location comes with final offer of employment.

              • I had heard that as well, and that's what I'm hoping. Uprooting a wife and kids with little warning AFTER accepting the job is a lot of stress on them. At least with a location in the offer, you can better prepare.

This is why my wife said no to DEA. Wasn't willing to roll the short notification dice.

A friend of mine was in their process for a while and decided it wasn't for him after they told him it was likely he would experience a few mandated transfers. Also not exactly beneficial for the family. Another friend left DSS for the same reason. Every three years they were packing up and moving.

                    • One of the trade offs for the USMS not having journeyman 13's is that you know where you are going before being hired and there are no forced moves for big city tours, etc. once in the agency. If you are hired into your dream office you never have to leave.

Just to be clear.....there are no mandated transfers to hard to fill locations in the DEA that I am aware of. Maybe in the past or in extreme circumstances but not that I have heard of. I am a current SA with them. I suppose if you want to be a supervisor (GS14) that they MAKE you do a tour in DC. But besides that, I believe where you are assigned out of academy you can stay your entire career.

The gamble is TAKING the job, as you may end up in a undesirable place initially out of the academy. However, I have been a Fed LEO in another agency, DEA seems to get you out of those places after 5 or so years better than most agencies. However, that's easy for me to say as I am not on the border.

Are you DEA or a DUSM?

                          • Does anyone remember when the 1811 lateral class got picked up last year, did they receive their Firm Offers via email or phone? Also if anyone got any duty stations on their wish list?

He sounds like a DEA SA based on what he said, and because he said supervisory GS-14, which is DEA, not USMS

                              • I think it was phone, and you may get to negotiate a bit, so no see if something else pops up.

Has anyone had to go and get a specialist to sign off on there medical because of a surgery? I got a form a specialist has to do. Wondering the success rate.
