This question goes out to any VETS, CURRENT OR FORMER USM, and anyone with factual information:
In a separate forum I read an applicant was disqualified from a LEO position with FPS due to having PTSD.
In his initial post he stated the following:
"I'm a service connected Marine (70% for PTSD & Tinnitus) and applied to a federal position back in Nov of 2013. I was hired under a special hiring authority for Veterans who are 30% or more Service Connected. I'm still in the process with this agency (DHS) and whenever I call to check on my status they continue to tell me that I am still pending a medical clearance..."
"When filling out the SF86 for question 21 (have you seen a psych for treatment) I marked "No" because it's strictly military related. The position that I am in the process for is the Federal Protective Service, they are 0080 Security Specialist with Law Enforcement Authority..."
Due to me having an upcoming appointment with the VA for my PTSD claim I contacted an OPM investigator who affirmed what the applicant said when he stated you do not have to disclose your visits to a psych when it pertains to military service.
So, my question is does anyone have any idea if the USMS would disqualify a veteran for having PTSD? Obviously, some of us have PTSD more than others but I'd like to know if anyone has any stories of the Marshal Service actually doing this to an applicant?
Let me know what you guys think,

Going to keep checking everyday but would be nice to know if anyone heard anything one way or the other. Thank you allOriginally posted by matt_laut View PostThey need to open more hiring announcements, and stop delaying the ones that are suppose to be opened. It's a bit discouraging that their website announcements will start to open in 2016 and they opened one. Not to mention it said Recent Grads in Summer of 2016 and it has yet to be posted,

Dude, we are all anxious like you. Trust me, we all know the feeling. Do you have your resume ready? Application information, transcripts, documents, and other stuff uploaded, ready to submit? If so, great. Standby to standby. It will come when it comes.
I'm in the check at midnight everyday phase at this point, haha. Got all of my stuff on standby ready to rock it out.

At some point you may need to go out on a limb and just consider that people A) don't know the answer, therefore haven't answered the question. or B) people that may know something about it haven't physically seen the question yet because maybe they aren't checking this thread daily, and posting the question over and over again isn't going to magically get them to check the thread.
With the apparent need for immediate gratification, working for the fed govt will be...interesting. good luck.
