I think you meant to say with proper instruction anyone can get a 255.

THIS! You don't know how many candidates we interview with zero law enforcement or limited law enforcement experience but decide they are experts on everything in the questionnaire. I would find it amusing if it wasn't so frustrating for all the other legitimately qualified candidates to make it to the next round due to the sheer volume of completely unqualified applicants. You know, the folks who answered honestly and didn't click expert on every question.

Ok..you asked me if it's even worth applying...the answer is no then ...there are thousands of 5 and 10 pt veterans with federal law enforcement experience that would blow your current resume out of the water if you want honesty..

Xman,Easy bud, no one was trying to get you riled up. JB linked the basic requirements for you and tonight at midnight you'll know down to a tee what they require in applicants. All I was attempting to do was illustrate for you that thousands, will apply for this opening and many very qualified agents, police officers, corrections guys won't even get their application package looked at let alone an interview. But you won't know unless you apply so read over the announcement tonight to see if your qualifications match up with what they are looking for and pray for the best. A shot in one million is better than no shot at all brother.

But like i said thats why this a forum, I was asking with the hope of having someone that has gone through the process or has some inside information answer me. But thank you it means alot to me.
Dude, screw what anonymous someone on a forum says. Just apply and see what happens. You don't need anyone who knows nothing about you to tell you if you have what it takes to gain employment based off a few lines on a site. Only you have the ability to go in there and articulate your knowledge, aptitude and abilities to do the job. At the end of the day it's all subjective. Can you make the case to the powers that be that you would be a great fit. Not every law enforcement officer that applies will get the job, nor will every vet. Cast your lot and see what happens. Good luck.

It's not the matter of "is it worth applying for". Even if you don't think you're qualified enough, APPLY. Don't listen to what other people are saying. I've heard of people getting picked up with having limited amounts of qualifications. Like the saying goes, "it does not hurt to try". I'm a veteran, Coast Guard with Federal LE experience. I've also worked with FAMS on a few assignments. I think those who are saying no, are not the ones you'd want to have your back when it comes to your own personal success.

                          APPLY!!!!!

I know brother. I seen non-Leo's when I was in CITP and in Artesia with FAMS.

                              • Unless things have changed since 2011. I made it pretty far into the process with just 45 credits and 3 years security experience. No degree, no prior LEO or Military. I ended up missing the physical test because I had to get surgery on my shoulder due to being in a car accident a few weeks before the physical fitness test.
