I wonder what's taking so long to receive a test invite. It's been almost two weeks since the job posting closed. My guess is I wasn't selected to take the FAB

I applied in October of 2020
My FOA was back in February. I took a shot in the dark and emailed the point of contact I had from the FOA just to see if I would get an answer. I was told that the agency is struggling with the hiring cycle from 2022 and that the FOA phase has been extended. No idea when but won’t hear anything until then.
My guess is it will be a few months before you get an invite to test. Stay motivated and keep going!

Hey guys, so I attended the Newark event. Applied there and was eligible for the exam. (Applied via education, I will be graduating in a couple weeks). Was invited to take the exam and have been waiting for results since 3/2. Today I got an email saying I don’t need the minimum qualifications for the job. Nothing about my exam score. Someone else ik got an email today saying they failed. My thing is this, if I didn’t meet the minimum qualifications, then why did I get invited to take the test? Doesn’t fams let u apply if u are a couple months before graduating? (For me 3). And no, the “don’t meet minimum quals” and “fail on the fab email” are completely different. Not the same email used for both.Comment

Welcome to what happens when applying to the federal government. Just because you meet the MINIMUM standard does not mean they will push you forward. Experience is valued over education in the federal system. Apply for BOP, BP, or USSS and places that have problems staffing themselves.
Just as an example I would apply for positions at DCSA (current agency handling BIs), since I was doing work for them on their contract. For everyone of my applications I was deemed not best qualified (despite doing work for them and explaining how the duties align in my resume). Couple months ago, apply for a DOD position (now my current job) in the middle of the night, interview a month later and get selected. Took about 2 to 3 months and then EOD'd.
The moral is your mileage will vary with the Federal government. Some people get picked up with no experience some people work years to get their first fed job.

Good morning guys, Last night I got my conditional offer with FAMS but the duty location is somewhere I did even come close to picking. Do any of you know if it's possible to change it this early or if it's possible to live in a different state and just travel to the duty station (kind of how pilots work). Im currently stationed in the southern border for BP. The idea of moving back home is what drove me to apply for this position. Me and my wife didn't have Chicago of all places in our plans. I understand it was a risk but I was also told that getting the station of my choice would be very likely.
