Took me less then a week to get my results back from my application during the 2020 announcement.

They appear to be doing it different this go around. The only people I've heard of getting notified are ones that have failed.

USSS CBT was easy. The hardest thing about the FAB is that the video is in like 240p so you can't see anything lmao

When I took it during the last announcement in 2020, got my results a couple of hours later. They maybe doing it a bit differently this go around.

Seems like the only people receiving their scores following the exam are the ones that failed. I would imagine that there will be further screening at the end of this testing period based on overall competitiveness.

Yes, just a heads up I’m not sure how much my proctor actually knew but when I saw I could have scrap paper I asked for it and got some. Wasn’t provided up front.

Not yet, but it has only been two days for me.

Have my test scheduled for next week, but not sure if it is even worth the effort. I passed the initial screening portion but I'm over the age of 40 now. I heard that FAMS doean't really do any waivers after that, even with 5 point Vet preference. I have a masters in cyber, LE experience as an Analyst, private pilot, 5 point, but no federal LE time. Can anyone answer this, maybe any current FAMs? I answered truthfully on initial application with my birthday and made it through the screening. Not sure if I should just pull out.

Blue Steel I thought that per OPM rules, as long as you have veterans preference, the age limits don’t really apply anymore. I think there may be a caveat though. If you’re a pilot, look into CBP Air Interdiction Agent. Way better job than being a FAM. You also get LEAP. (https://www.cbp.gov/careers/aia-app-proc)

Btw, it mentions the exemption of the age limit in the Basic Eligibility section.

You can deduct your active military time from your age to get closer to or below the cutoff limit.

Just because you are Vet doesn't mean you qual for a veteran's age waiver. Typically service-connected disability, is what you will need to qualify for veterans preference. See the age memo, and check with HR, if you were National Guard or Reserve it will depend partly on federal activations and deployments as well. The link below is the memo you can attach with your hiring packet. As long as you meet all the requirements and age is not a SPECIFIC requirement, the waiver applies (if you qualify for it).
