I was allowed to pick any of them that were still open that I had applied for under the hiring.

That's not the too bad if you are willing/able to move. I also choose every location, my COE was for WFO. Did you already pick?

    That's ridiculous.

They need to let us know if our field office of choice is filled. I don't want to waste money flying out to take a polygraph if there is no job for me at my field office. I know some of you are planning/willing to move, but that is not the case for everyone

    • For those who have completed the poly, did any of you finish in 2 hours or less? I had mine this week and feel like it was alarmingly short and I don't know if that is a positive thing or a negative thing. I feel as though there might have been a couple of topics that the polygrapher may have wanted to explore further, but we wrapped up pretty quickly. I don't know it it is a good or bad sign that we were finished so quickly. Anyone else have a pretty short poly session compared to the 4-6 hours we were told to plan for?

one guy I did it with was in and out pretty quick, probably like 2 hours...couldn't tell you what became of him or what happened during it....did you admit to anything new during the poly, like killing hookers or anything?

Well, there was that one time in Istanbul...

Ha, no. Nothing new. I was really confused though because after taking a break I found out we were done. I thought for sure we would have more to go over. Guess we will see. All he told me was that I would hear from TSA soon.

    • So, I just got "the call" from FAMS and they said I have passed everything and I was good to go. (even though my dashboard has green checks up to a blue star over medical drug test). But like others have posted on here, my field office is now full for the remainder of the fiscal year. I was given only two options, be wait listed for my field office until approximately October or completely withdraw. Apparently if you don't check all the boxes for every field office on the original application, you are not allowed to be considered for any other field office after the original application is submitted.

Feeling a bit defeated, as I thought they would just put me where they needed regardless of what field office I selected.

Congratulations to everyone that has made it and good luck to those still in the process.

EDIT: I now have green checks through the medical drug test. I hope I get in via the wait-list before my poly expires or somehow they let me hire through another office. Only time will tell.

My COE was for the Atlanta office. This is also where I did all the interviews and PFT. I did the polygraph and medical in Atlantic City last Thursday and Friday.

    • This is not looking good for those of us that have not yet taken a poly.

        Nope.

I'm not moving my family for a 55k/yr job and i only applied to Houston. It makes me mad that they don't tell you when your field office closes. Why bother spending money to fly to AC if you know you have no chance of getting a job until October. At that point you can just apply again i suppose..

Yea I feel you. Moving your family where they don't know any one and you'll be gone for work a lot of days. Wonder if my FO will have spots in June

          • I just called HRaccess.. I didn't expect much, but apparently they cannot tell you if a field office's vacancies have been filled at the specialist level. Of course the "escalated" my inquiry and told me that they would contact me in the future. They also told me that (obviously) i could still do my poly and be qualified for 6 months.

At this point for anyone in my situation it would be smarter to delay their poly as long as possible. That way you have a longer window of eligibility for employment in case they delay the next job posting. Nothing would be worse than to do your poly this May just to have the job opening be in December or January..

It was still avalile when I was given the choice

            • I wouldn't worry unless you already know an FO is closed. (ATL/Houston). Those two in particular are the most high requested FOs by new hires and transfers. I've talked to a guy who spent 6 years trying to transfer to Atlanta. Grab those lobes and woosah.

That must be a new thing because my partner that I was hired with for the Houston Field Office did not apply to Houston or interview there.

Yeah I have no idea. I asked the guy on the phone, but he said my only options were to get wait-listed or withdraw. How long ago was this option given to your partner? I've also sent a request to HR to inquire if I could possibly change/update my field office section. I will follow-up with a phone call to see what I can or cannot do. I mostly concerned about getting wait-listed and then not being picked up when the new fiscal year starts and then there is a great possibility that my polygraph could expire. Just seems a bit silly since I of course selected yes to all the questions related to mobility agreement and hiring needs questions.

                • Failed the poly. The question they failed me on was rediculous. I did not lie and I have passed the only other poly I have taken. Beware before you pay to go all the way to AC.
