Yes and no.
You can set up a saved search for Deportation Officer with ICE and set it up to notify you with results every day. You will get an email about 0100 Eastern Time if there are any results; however, if the announcement opened for only 1,000 applicants and say closed after a few hours then you will not get a notification.

Read a rumor on another forum that the June academy might get cancelled. Not enough bodies.Last edited by Keyturner; 05-05-2018, 01:48 PM.Comment

One more question, I'm currently processing for CBP, if I get on the job with them, does it help with job opportunities/getting hired with ICE?Comment
-
If your end game is to work for ERO then starting out with Border Patrol would be much more beneficial. BPAs are Academy exempt. All most all of our recent hires have come from the BP ranks. CBPOs are not academy exempt and there hasn’t been a single pickup from CBP at my office since I’ve been with ICE (9 years). The only prior CBPOs at my office were all legacy Immigration Imspectors and were academy exempt. All came on board around 2005 or 2006.
CBPOs do not tend to be very competitive for the limited openings in ERO when there are hundreds if not thousands of BPAs trying to get off of the border. -
We have quite a few former CBP officers in my class now.

Who else is waiting on background? I know the are a few waiting on medical. For the ones that are EOD at their field offices, do you report that one day? Or is it for the entire time until Fletc?Comment
-
You can start FLETC without them finishing your background. -
LBJfan4life i figured, i even asked dallas hr but was told other wise -
That’s incorrect was told directly by psu the only way that would happen is if you have had a previous federal investigation done. Those of us without clearances have to complete the background before being brought on. -

I was told today that I am now in the July academy but my eod did not change. I guess the June academy was overbooked or something.Last edited by Bullrooster; 05-08-2018, 09:58 PM.Comment

Got a letter from the eod, i have to explain some blemishes on my credit and a few other things. Not sure if my explanation are gonna help or if they're just going thru the motions and then denying me a job. I got 10 days to explain and provide proof of payment on some paid off collections.Comment

AgentSpecial I received a TSL a few weeks ago for Miami FO as well. How far along are you in the process and what Duty station did they offer you finally? -
conzept so far I have submitted my e-qip and sent the fingerprint cards.
No movement otherwise... I reach out to the medical unit to see what’s up but no answer.
I received the miami office. How about you? -
AgentSpecial Miami FO - Ft Myers Duty Station. How was the medical/pft portion? I have it scheduled for today. -
conzept still haven’t been scheduled for the medical portion. So you will have to let me know. Good Luck!

No. Gone are the days of 7-00, or 9-00 to macth your pay. It depends on the announcement you were hired under though. My announcement was for an entry level position with DO as a 5 or 7. I was a 12-6 with another fed agency. I entered DO as a 7-10. After 90 days I can put in a memo for my 11. One year after that I’ll get my 12 pay back.
