  • In a logical world that would suffice. But if that doctor reviewing your file has any questions or concerns they will want follow up docs. They didn't have one stop for the Feb 15 announcement but from my med/pft to the day I got an email asking for follow up was almost 3 months. I called regularly too and was told the Dr would get to it eventually and just wait for him to review. Again only one Dr was reviewing the files. And then I get the request for more info from specialists and they give me a 2 week deadline to get the paperwork together. I was able to get a week extention for that deadline but still they take 3 months to contact me asking for follow up and then give me 2 weeks to get it done?

    • My comment stands. If anyone knows when May classes are full, post on here.

They may still have the class even if it doesn't get filled

Sad all around. I went through/am going through the same thing. Some contract quack will review your medical paperwork and then some HR medical specialist will let you know months later that you need to go see everyone from a proctologist to an OB/GYN because the glorified free clinic they sent you to in the bad neighborhood put in a 26% effort.

I walked out with uncorrected vision of 20/20 and cruised through the other vision tests. All natural with no LASIK, etc. Three months later I got the follow up request to go see an eye doctor amongst others. Cardiologist-his response was what on earth do they want you to do besides a perfect EKG? I don't recall all of them but it was clear they don't read the file and likely auto-select people for random, baseless follow ups. It was good to verify that I don't have ovaries, I guess.

I actually called about the vision thing and after about 12 voicemails left I got a curt, impolite return call and was told when I asked why someone with completely normal vision was told to go see and eye doctor "Because we told you too. If you choose not to, then that's your decision but if you want to be considered for employment, you'll do what we ask in an expedited manner." I wasn't exactly stunned by her answer but I was obviously troubled by the sheer arrogance of these fools.

Suffice to say that I'm still waiting on their efficient physician to medically clear me going all the way back to November. I'm sure my smart ***** attitude to HR is getting me put to the bottom of the pile every time Dr. Kevorkian gets to it.

            • Also wanted to chase some advice on a rat squad NOPA I got the other day. Sure glad they can Fedex overnight insults. Cost effective.

Anyway, correct me if I am wrong but isn't the backstopping required for this particular job and associated Secret clearance seven years? I checked the SF86 that we all submitted(some of us twice in eight months) and it does say seven years for jobs, crimes, etc. These wannabe cops are seriously concerned about a non LEO job I didn't get with the FBI from a few years back, and by a few I mean NINE YEARS AGO IN 2007!

I have no criminal record, my last traffic infraction was 2005, I've been toting a badge for multiple years at multiple agencies with numerous awards and outstanding annual evals not to mention my current, valid Secret clearance and federal LEO position. Patrol, plain clothes, etc. And they want to talk about something totally irrelevant to everybody but the rat squad at OPR.

So I call the the clowns down Farmers Branch way and talk to the simplest of stooges in the history of the land part of earth. The more I ask questions the weaker he gets and he finally ends it with submit whatever you want but it won't matter because I've never had my boss overturn anything in my tenure at OPR and hung up.

I'm weighing my options. Respond, ignore and call my member of parliament, file an in person gripe with DHS OIG or maybe cruise down to the USAO and Circuit Court and put in for a warrant for fraud, obstruction and a few 5CFR's.

              • I participated in the NY one stop a few weeks ago. I know I passed everything and my current clearance with DHS is exempting me from having another BI. As far as I am concerned, I am waiting for the call like most of you. I emailed DSU to find out if they were missing anything and they responded with "We are missing your medical, drug screening, and fitness testing results." I would like to be believe it's because they are overwhelmed with applications and they are dotting their i's and crossing their t's but I am beginning to think that this is turning into a massive hurry up and wait scheme... like 6 months to a year. At this point, it's safe to say that this is going to be a lot longer process then most of us had hoped for. Being a government employee, like a lot of you, I got my hopes up thinking this processing speed (initially) meant something great when in fact it was never fast. Hell, people who chose not to attend the one stop are already completing their processing. What the heck was the point of going to the one stop if it didn't expedite anything? I could have saved $400 dollars between air fare, taxis, etc.

I will be checking in time to time to see if there is any exciting news. Until then, I'll keep emailing DSU until I can't take it anymore! Good luck all.

I was told the opposite at my OS. One of the ladies in the front desk said that a lot of the people that didn't attend the OS pretty much screwed themselves. Who knows? This is a massive cluster f**k.

It's the first time they've done it. So to me, this isn't a big surprise. And who knows how many applicants have made it through all the way and waiting for call, or just waiting on BI, medical, etc..

It's a big hiring surge so I'm sure we will all get it eventually (if cleared 100%).

                    Patience is a virtue.

Complaining and calling them with an attitude isn't gonna solve anything. Lol. They have nothing to lose, you do.. Stay patient and wait the course. It'll come.

Weird I didn't do the OS and I'm done with everything just waiting on Med clearance like everyone else.

I thought, going to the one that was held earlier would give me lead way, especialy because I anticipated hickups due to VA ratings.. Could not go to the first two because of work schedule conflict..
