Haha, pretty sure it's the same person. He must be bragging on all the forums.

    • So I called this morning to see if I had to redo the fitness test and they said that I cleared the fitness test, interview, and drug test. I scheduled the fitness test for the 11th since they called me so I asked if I could just cancel it and they said not to do it yet and they would get back to me. The BI is still pending apparently as is the medical. I did the medical TWICE so I'm not sure why I haven't been cleared yet. As for the BI, I'm not sure what's taking so long since I see people getting cleared here that applied to the November announcement while I applied last Feb. I called the 214 number...is there a more specific number for the BI? I remember I called a while ago and I kept getting hung up on and messages never returned. I've done everything I possibly could so if it's miscommunication and incompetence that is holding me back, nothing would anger me more...

          • I received an email confirming that they are just waiting on the BI and medical to clear. I called and left a message with the BI people, let's see if they actually return my call. Is the medical number also a separate number? I went back a few pages and didn't see anything about a contact number regarding the medical

Did you just get an email? I just got one saying they are waiting on my medical. Bi fitness and drug test good to go. And I haven't gotten no follow up requests.

              • Medical Review

Does anyone know why people that did their medical exams at recent one stops.. are being cleared before people that did one stop earlier?

For example, I did one stop in Florida... I have yet to hear about my medical status. I emailed medical unit and was told my application is in the pile waiting review (for follow up). However, I noticed that some people on this forum went to NY one stop (two weeks after Florida).. and they have EOD. One person, that went to NY one stop, mentioned that he/she did not have any medical issue.. So, that kind of tells me that applications from people that have conditions/VA ratings etc.. are probably being set aside... for now.. and be reviewed later....

I tried to press DSC on that issue... and they told me that it is only one doctor, in DC, clearing everyone. I said "fine, shouldn't he/she review applications in the same order they were received?". DSC staff told me they can't speak for the doctor...

I expect that I will be asked for follow up due to lasik surgery and VA ratings.. and have to return information within certain period of time..but, it may be too late.. since positions are filled as people finish the process...

Just a question... not a complaint. At least for now

You are correct. VA ratings and other medical issues will slow your process down. I have a rating and also had prk surgery. What I did, and it seems to have worked, was take the physical requirements that came with the tsl to my orthopedic surgeon. He did a full exam, nerve study, range of motion etc etc. He gave me a full report stating my VA ratings, diagnosis, prognosis bla bla. I was only asked for the eye exam form. Medical received and reviewed my form now its just waiting somewhere in limbo lol

                  • Hey cv,

I hear you bud. While I just did my OS two weeks ago in NY, I feel the medical clearance should not be taking this long. Much like you I am a vet with a VA rating and there appears to be, dare I say it, some serious bias towards disabled vets. We all showed up to the OS, had our medical background reviewed and discussed with by a doctor and we all took the fitness test required for the position. If you ask me that should be enough. Why is ICE allowing some doctor who has neither seen us nor talked to us making the decision on whether we are medically competent to perform? I know several guys on other forums are talking about possible lawsuits and to be honest I don't blame them. In the meantime I will just wait to see how my adjudication turns out.

P.S. Who from the NY OS has received an EOD? I have been following this forum pretty close and must have missed it. Congradulations to all that have made it and good luck to you in getting cleared.

Hear hear! This is the first agency that asked for specifics on my disability ratings from the va which I do have concerns about especially with certain ratings that can be interpreted unfairly.

Border Patrol does the same thing. I am in that process too and they also asked me for my award letter.

                        • The one stop medical staff do the exams by contract.

                          They aren't ICE employees.

Before I attended One Stop, I went to VA hospital and gave my VA primary care doctor a copy of physical requirements and exercise sheet that came in the TLS booklet... VA doctor did the necessary exams.. and wrote a letter saying that he deems me fit to perform the duties and trainings associated with DO position. I gave hiring unit that letter, and submitted to all the exams ICE asked, at one stop,-no issue- passed pt.. etc... Now, I am just waiting.. for ICE doctor to say.. yes you are good or send additional information.... 28 days after one stop.... have not heard from medical.. it still says I need to clear drug test, pt and medical....

I thought my VA doctor letter and result of one stop doctor would suffice?

They will ask you to get another eye exam. Everyone that I know that has had any lasik prk etc has been asked to get an additional eye exam

If you have any specific injuries you will probably have to see a specialist. Not sure if a general practitioner can clear you for everything.
